Ratwhite Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) I'm trying to liken this current period to the 92/93 season when Rioch came. He made a couple of signings and it took a while to gel. ( 3 wins, 2 draws and 6 defeats). 2-2 draw at Chester (Mrs Ratwhites first "day out" shopping in Chester, that turned into a "blimey, Bolton are playing in Chester, should we have a little look........moment) Anyway we all know what happened from there (with the team, that is). Think DF will do the same in his own time. Edited February 11, 2013 by Ratwhite Quote
Ratwhite Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Ps are the 34 who voted no, the nest of boo'ers, who also made Eagles (allegedly) hand in a transfer request? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, plop, Tick tick tick tick Quote
Casino Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 riochs team was booed at both chester and preston 2-0 down in both and came back to draw pretty grim against port vale at home, too mcginlays first goal/appearance/something Quote
Carlos Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Didn't go to Chester, at Preston there wasn't booing as I remember but constant Warbies Out chants. Quote
Casino Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 seem to remember walker was on the bench at preston there was booing and it was probably brought on by that at chester, we were near the roadrunner camera i'd be surprised if you can't hear meldrews nest Quote
jules_darby Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Freedman - Saturday Serious question Does he go up or down in folk's estimations? The first hour or so was painful But he obviously made the right big decisions and we claimed the all important victory I think it's a bit of both for me Quote

I suppose eagles doesn't get into the box like Pratley does. Quote

I wasn't at the Sunderland game, but our movement, passing and tracking was miles better v Everton (post the first 15-20 mins) than it was v Burnley It was leagues apart Quote
Casino Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 from his comments after the game, the plan was always to take them apart in the last 30 minutes when they'd shot their load this could, of course, be bullshit don't forget, for all it was functional - at best - and not what you'd call entertaining, they rarely threatened us, either Quote
Carlos Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 He's brought someone in for loose change who looks a goal threat. That's the long term bonus. Quote

Whilst it was uninspiring i'd say we controlled the game and looked the more dangerous without actually creating anything (if that's at all possible) as the game wore on it just felt like we needed to do something to change it or we'd be caught out, and we were. onlyoneawalker Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) I think we need to get over this issue with the first half of games being shit DF is clearly very much a slowly slowly catchy monkey type of manager we need to be patient let the team get in the game and then pick teams off for me it's a 100% better prospect than coyles scatter gun approach we'll out "wing" all comers and megsons slowly slowly slowly still slowly still slowly.....nope monkeys gone approach Edited February 11, 2013 by onlyoneawalker Quote

The good news is that under OC when it wasn't there we were probably 2 or 3 down So of course it's preferable, but that doesn't mean it's always going to be ok. I'm sure DF wasn't over the moon 55 mins in on Saturday thinking "it's ok it's all part of my plan" Quote
jules_darby Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Probably not that's why he changed it Egg Zackerly Quote

KP Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Saturdaywas a big tick from me. I think he knows he's got it slightly wrong for the first hour, looked at what it was that was wrong and changed accordingly. He's had a successful plan B. It's fucking refreshing that we have a manager capable of doing that. Quote
