Adlington White Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Doubt SKD will get one, Gardner never did.... Lack of respect for 2 of our greatest servants in recent times Quote
The Wanderer Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 lack of respect that gardner wasnt given chance to say goodbye to the club, looking like davies wont. campo claimed neither the manager or chairman told him he was to be released. embarrassment. Quote
radcliffe white Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 cant understand not giving davies a testimonial he does a lot of charity work especially in bolton who would of benefited Quote
bwfc87 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Gardners is this summer isn't it? I thought he was still getting one, playing against Jamaica Quote
Marc505 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Slightly off topic, but can anyone remember the score/scorers in McGinlay's testimonial? I remember David Moyes coming on for Preston and McGinlay's lap of honour at the end but not much else Quote
tomski Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The Ben says the club haven't said no, but as is procedure he needs to ask? Quote
matty2094 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 As someones just mentioned on Twitter, a Ricky G XI VS. an SKD XI wouldn't be bad. Surely a few past greats would be up for it Quote
anewman Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'm fucking due one! yeah fans should get half price season ticket if they have a continuous one for 10 years Quote
scoobydoo Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The Ben says the club haven't said no, but as is procedure he needs to ask? Letting the truth get in the way of some good old club bashing ..... Shame on you . Quote

Smiffs Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Testimonials should be given to players who have earned a wage but not enough to retire, not a wage that's made them millionaires in the first place. Quote
tomski Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Spot on smiffs. Outdated at this level of football now. Edited March 26, 2013 by tomski Quote
little whitt Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Testimonials should be given to players who have earned a wage but not enough to retire, not a wage that's made them millionaires in the first place. good point but i take it is KIDS OF BOLTON will get so it will be them who would miss out Quote
no balls Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 good point but i take it is KIDS OF BOLTON will get so it will be them who would miss out then I'm sure he could work something out with the club. There's some bollocks bring spouted today regarding all this. Anyone's think footballers these days need a testimonial to survive their retirement Quote
EyesRight Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Looking at getting a flag sorted for both Gardner and SKD in time for the Blackpool game. Something like: "who put the ball in the Munich net?" and/or "thank you for the memories" Something from the fans, they have both been important in our recent history and deserve some ackowledgement from us. Quote
Bigtoe Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Hands up if you went to Robbie Savages at Burnden? *hand up* And why did he have one? Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 A testimonial 'was' a way to get some finances into a players pocket, now that's not needed, mostly it goes to charity, which is also a good thing. What we're forgetting is, a testimonial is also a way to thank a player properly for his loyal years of service, an opportunity to give a fond fair well, celebrate their in put, call it what you will. It doesn't need to be asked for, & if it did, why did DF tell KD he wouldn't be given one? Anyhow, either way, something is wrong in the state of Denmark tonight. The truth will out Quote
Eavesy Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'd be happy if the club got the final game of the season properly organised to recognise him. I'd be gutted if the Blackpool game he was on the bench, didnt play and no one mentioned him because he had a testimonial organised. And then about 8k turn up for the testimonial and its dire as buggery. Get 22k on. Blackpool should bring a few in the sun. Bit of a derby. Quote

All dependent on if we are needing to win the game for a play off spot. If we don't I don't see the harm in him starting. Quote
Gonk Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'm really not arsed. I doubt SKD is either, but Pud is on Facebook so that's alright Quote
oggybwfc Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Testimonials used to piss me off anyway,I remember arguing with a bloke i used to work with, when He said" they should get one because their working life was so short"My answer was"Fuck em they can stand on the next Duckboard to Me" Quote
