jules_darby Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 The view from the WSU differs on a few points Boring first half; alot of huff and puff but little quality and a poor final ball from both teams. We looked like the team we were pre the good run; slow, predictable and disjointed. Second half was absolutely exhilarating if still lacking in quality. We came at them and aet the pace straight away - well done DF and co! A very good win all things considered; Hudds battled hard and pushed us and it was a mix of brave defending and luck that gave us he clean sheet. I thought Chungy looked the man most likely to make something happen, but Spearing constantly puttin his body on the line and Pratley covering every blade of grass were the pick of our men for me. N'Gog I don't get the polarised views; for me he was OK; he holds it up superbly and has wonderful touches and control but he held on to it too long and wasn't decisive enough tonight, not to mention the bad miss. I also actually thought Sordell was poor in the main. Good work in the end for our goal but I didn't think he was ever going to actually chase him down; those near me and I feel he is mentally lazy, huge just doesn't react quickly enough to situations and his execution is often poor. I'm not convinced and Mounts I just don't see this "football brain" of his. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see him lasting I don't like the partnership overall up front, they make too similar runs and neither looks like snatching goals, but with our current situation, needs must All in all a very good battling 3 points an you never know, it could be crucial come May Quote
DaisyHWanderer Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Bet the WSU weren't happy about the smoke being let off. Look on the stewards faces was brilliant Quote

jules_darby Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 They woke up to boo?? Damn you and your logic spoiling my little ruse I would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky Leythers Quote
Smiffs Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Darren Pratley. Take a bow. He's nowhere near as shit as he used to be. Quote
awandering Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Ngog worked hard and showed some good touches, some of which didn't quite come off and sometimes he kept it too long. Possibly short on confidence but overall happy with his performance. 9 more 1-0 wins will do me! Quote
snowball Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Good win, not at our best but after Saturday I will take that. Really struggling to see how N'gog was 'fucking superb', I thought he was fucking awful, never a striker in the memory of man but I suppose it's all about opinions. Spearing was mom for me. Think we should buy him if at all possible, be a good'un for us for a long time if it happens. We really shouldn't still be in with a chance but we are. Roll on Wolves. Quote
White Shirt Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Another 1-0. You can tell DF likes his Italian football Quote
TroySwoosh Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Stubbs played well toneet an McAteer was all over't show Quote
frank_spencer Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 3 points is 3 points. And that's all that matters. Quote
tomski Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Darren Pratley. Take a bow. He's nowhere near as shit as he used to be. Worked his bollocks off and played well. Quote
tomski Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Medo has to start games as he has this rare interest in keeping the ball. Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 If Vaughan had any sort of decent first touch then he'd have bagged a hat trick first half. Chuck in the Knight 'attempt' (top save from Lonergan by the way), the crossbar and a couple that flashed wide and we could have been 5-0 down at half time, or at least 5-1 if N'Gog hadn't missed that sitter. Dougie must have put a rocket (smoke bomb?) up their arse at half time, we started pushing much higher up the field and got our just rewards. Tremendous work from Sordell, I thought Clarke had got himself out of his own shit on the touchline, but fair play to Marv for continuing to hassle him and then pick out Eagles. Peach of a finish and all. Yes we rode our luck a bit and they should have had a penalty just as much as we should, but credit where it's due for digging in deep when required. Special mentions to Lonergan, Spearing, second half CYL and N'Gog, but my word Pratley covered every blade of grass twice over. Great clearance off the line in that mad minute and did anyone else see him leg it back 80 yards to cut out a pass when it was on 3 on 3 after we'd had a corner? Take a bow lad. Quote
MalcolmW Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 malcolm, can you confirm if brighton are playing Leicester on saturday? According to my wallchart that is so. Currently: Cardiff, Hull and Watford cannot be relegated. Bristol City cannot be promoted. Anything else is still possible! Quote

Peach of a finish and all. According to the half time stats on the TV's on the concourse they had 4 shots first half and 0 on target, so I think you're being rather generous to them there Sordell; tremendous?? It was in the end but he very nearly didn't bother, which was actually what made their guy think he could fuck about with it; so I suppose in the end it worked, but it was a very odd passage of play Quote
Biggish Dave Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Great win, not a great performance. First half was poor, didn't really get going but nothing stuck up front - Sordell looked lazy or lacking confidence and Ngog couldn't have trapped a bag of cement. 2nd half at least saw some improvement especially when Chungy and Eagles swapped wings. Pratley and Spearing were superb in the middle and Medo looks decent too when he came on. Knight lucky to get away with pulling his man down early on and with his goal attempt, the man is a stump. Butterfield - I will be kind and say you could tell he hasn't started a league game for 12 months! He got skinned every time by the hippy on the wing. We won though so who cares if some played badly Quote
