I can't believe that's been 16 years. Wow.

Scott Minto left back for Charlton and Taggart's blue boots. The overpowering smell of the champagne at the end of the game then tearing back home to watch the video highlights.

Wish I could rewind back and start the last 16 years all over again, been a fantastic journey for the last 16 years.

How many streakers were there? I thought there were 3, but someone else said there were only 2.

Sadly with a few house moves I've lost my lucky toilet seat procured from the Manny Road North ladies bogs.

What a season that was. Only lost 4 games. Great times.

Standing at the top of the steps on the Bromwich St side of the subway, my beloved Burnden bathed by the floodlights.

Watching fellow Trotters' heading for home, telling my two children to "Have a good long look kids and make sure you will always remember, you won't be seeing it again!"

Unashamedly, with tears in my eyes; turning around and seeing dozens of others doing similar.

What a night...still makes the hairs stand up, even now!

Often wonder if history would have worked out different at Burnden had the superstore never been built. The board might have chosen to invest in the old ground rather than move to Horwich. Not sure what impact either way that would have had on life since.

The money certain folk got was the driving force behind the move, if the reebok was built on Burnden the whole area and the town centre would look a whole lot different now a massive opportunity missed for Bolton and a shocking decision it has turned out to be for this once great town.

Was on the embankment also, got the painting hanging up in my bedroom (much to the dislike of the wife). Was stood very close to where he was painting it so had to have it reminds me of that night every morning

Lads, can we not just have a happy look back on an emotional anniversary?

Still got a Burnden Stand seat. Must be 16 years today since I last drank in the waggon and horses too then.

 

16 years, can't believe it. that year was the best team we have had in my lifetime..

Great night, I even copped off int Terrace with a lass from Skelm,

 

That walk out was sad,

Was funny watching people walking up manny rd with fire extinguishers, toilet seats and planks of wood from the back of the burnden terrace. Also Bolton fans stood on the embankment singing " you only sing when your shopping" brilliant but still a sad night,

Stood at the top corner of the Burnden paddock till the last 10 mins,then retreated back to towards to the Lever End to see the game out with my old man.

 

Went in the King Bill afterwards and spotted them shutter doors near the scoreboard had been left open well after the game had finished,me and my mate legged it over and ended up going on the pitch and more importantly the embankment as I had never stood on there previously.

 

I was gutted we were leaving,but the best thing we have ever done as a football club.

I've got a scrapbook full of reports from the 96/97 season, makes a great read from time to time. Bet I'm the only one who'll reply to this thread who wasn't there that night though and was instead sat at home listening on GMR having seen the build up on Grananda Tonight & North West Tonight.

I also have that ticket and the reading and Liverpool cup final ticket in a frame

 

 

toyed with the idea of going on the embankment as had never been on it

 

decided made sense to stand in our usual spot on the burnden terrace

 

remember going the match in shirt, trousers and shoes as was heading in town after, never been better dressed at a footy game...

 

the last ever goal celebration... must've moved about 30 feet in every direction without feet touching the floor

Ive got a scrap book of every Bolton event of sorts from about 1983 onwards.

 

I sent for old copies of the BEN pretending I was doing a study on 'terrace culture' for a degree.

 

Manchester Uni sent photocopies of every Bolton incident known to man,the delightfully helpful fuckers.

 

Aldershot,Port Vale away,Boro,setting fire to the Police box at Burnden,its all in there.
