Twenty Years Ago Tonight Hull 1 Bolton 2

Been discussed plenty of times but one of my best times supporting the Whites. Was Friday evening and remember picking up AL on building site up Breightmet. SW drove us, including other AL over to Sheffield to pick up DG. What a night, pitch invasions and all! Back to Sheffield for a top night out. Season finished off with memorable promotion party at home to Preston and on back of FA Cup run -great times!

Beat me to it. Think that was the last away game I drove to, with brother in law. Great night.

Hopefully a joyous return to Ull may be on the cards a week on Sunday

20 years? - Scary, it feels like about 10-15 years ago.

Went to Bournemouth on the Tuesday night, won 1-2 - Late winner.

Went to Hull away on the Following Friday, won 1-2 - Late winner.

Happy days

We did our job after making life difficult but it still wasn't in our hands after Hull.I think it was Exeter who took points off Port Vale or might have been Blackpool to give us the opportunity to beat Preston for automatic promotion

In my opinion, this was the last time we properly took over an away ground. Behind the goal that terrace was heaving, to the right were the seats where more Bolton were, and about half of the terrace to our left was Bolton....plus that lad running on the pitch and scoring a goal at the opposite end terrace was hilarious...good night

My best week as a Wanderer - got to Bournemouth before opening time and nicked off college to go to Hull, well worth it all

Same here both aways in a week top top support at both.

Went aged 9 with my Dad and 3 blokes from Leyland in a bright yellow Siera van.

Got plonked at the front

My old man shit himself when we scored as he though Id been crushed, but I was on the pitch.

Great time to be growing up,non of the other kids at school had that in their lives.

Sorry for being picky, but there wan't a Sierra van, unless it was an import from Holland

I do feel old now

One of my favourite ever away trips that was, I even made it onto the pitch twice......which seemed like a good idea at the time. I would no doubt be banned from all grounds for 2 years if I did that now

I also recall I was wearing a green cordrouy jacket as well......I would no doubt be beat up if I did that now

2:09 Brilliant :D

Euphoria that night....still have no idea who the bloke at the side of me was, holding me in a vice like grip and lifting me off my feet....cheers fella

Cracking week with Bournemouth on the Tuesday too.

Listened to Bournemouth on the radio, could just pick up a crackly GMR in Preston, bouncing round the house.

Was living in London then - did the Bournemouth match, and had the final games at home to Stoke (midweek) & Preston pencilled in. Couldn't manage Hull too.

Sh*t fan.

I remember that bole vividly; big Ginger lad he was

I felt the same - going to games like this at 14 years old; other than Gumbo to Bolton, none of the kids in our school went to watch their teams away, barely a few even went to Utd ad City at home. Made you feel proper special

Me and my old man were listening to that on the radio too...I think I must've nearly put the ceiling to the room below my bedroom in from boucing up and down

It's my fondest domestic game - home or away

We were stood on the side and it looked like we had pretty much the whole ground except for half the stand opposite us and behind the other goal. Brilliant days

Was there. It's all been said. Was with four family members and a Villa supporting mate who still talks about that night in glowing terms. One of the odd cameos I remember is all the players having gone back in the dressing room after the warm up, leaving lots of balls on the pitch. My midlands mate said: "one of these pissed up loons is going to be on there trying to boot that in the net before long". Within seconds it happened! On the whole the policing that night was very sensible. They could have dealt with those pitch invasions with baton/Robocop tactics. Instead they just guarded the halfway line and let the exuberance fizzle out.

I will bow to traf and your shit car/van knowledge

I remember estates and even a pickup thst Dazbobs caravanette was based on but never a van. On the net it says vans were made for the Dutch market

Sorry

Stayed in hull that night

Absolutely slaughtered
