Leyther_Matt
Guess which dickhead stuck a fiver on Hull -12 all of a minute before Chase started the comeback. Chase is a prick, but my word he came up with some quality tonight. Hell of a finish to the game as well.
Members bolty58
If that lions game tomorrow is half as fast and tough as this Cas v hull game I'll show my bollocks int saddle tomorrow night. Just been listening to the mayor of Brisbane excitedly saying that 70,000 visitors - both ex pats and from the British Isles had arrived in town. Booked out all hotels and supped all th'ale. So many deluded fools eh?

Smiffs
It would be an exaggeration to say the country is gripped by Lions fever. At the start of the week, media coverage was still almost an afterthought following rugby league, Aussie Rules football, cricket, the football Socceroos, golf and even the NBA finals. It is only in the last 48 hours that the traditional fervour accompanying a Lions tour has been apparent, with the arrival in Brisbane of an estimated 25,000-30,000 travelling supporters. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/23006864

Zulu
'29,998 of whom are insufferable ex pats from other parts of Australia.' I reckon Bolty will circle the bait a bit. I'll be very surprised if he takes it though.
Maggie Tate
It's like talking to Diddles. I've not mentioned kicking once. My point, and Bolty eluded to it later, is that the same boring stuff is recycled everytime this debate happens. But maybe you have just forgot and that's why you are asking. So, just for you, i will tell you that there is more kicking in Union than there is in League. Now write it down on a piece of paper and put it in your pocket for future reference. That's like asking why the matter of a dozen corpses under the patio keeps coming up when the Wests were such a nice couple.

Smiffs
There's something special about a Lions tour, can't wait. Give this man a cigar That's what tours like this are. Glorified circus acts. The cricket will be the same this winter. It's not about the sport being the best its about as many folk getting there an getting as pissed as they can and annoying as many convicts as they can. The sport, whatever it is, comes a distant second. 12 years since they went to oz. diddles hadnt even started wanking then. To crack in it the greatest show on earth though ..... Moderators Casino Posted June 22, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 22, 2013 (edited) Do they still wheel the fat lad on in league, chuck him the egg, stagger forward and then go for a sit down Commonly known as an interchange? Id like league more if the national team wasn't such a guaranteed disappointment Hard for em though when the best players can't wait to escape Edited June 22, 2013 by Casino

Id like league more if the national team wasn't such a guaranteed disappointment Hard for em though when the best players can't wait to escape The interchange.... Usually 20 minute stints used for forwards to keep the game fast and hard. In that 20 minutes he will be expected to take 12 drives and make 60 yards plus put in 15 tackles. Minimum. Thats car crash impact every 45 seconds. The ball can spend 45 seconds lost in some fat lads arsecrack in union. In defence he runs forwards and back 20 yards every 7-8 seconds. Most people could not do shuttle runs like that. You simply cannot compare the fitness of a league forward with a union forward. One relies on power and fitness the other can, if he wishes, rely on simply being fat. However fat the league lads may be (and we are usually referring to props) they wont be as fat as the union lads. Lets compare; Adrian Morley - league prop.... Union prop Adam Rhys Jones Granted he would take some putting down but yon mon would be blowing out of his arse within 5 minutes in league. With no scrums or line outs can't you lot just pick the best 13 footballers?

With no scrums or line outs can't you lot just pick the best 13 footballers? They're the ones who have to do the hard work down the middle, making the most tackles and carries and my nature at the greatest impact when in collision with blokes of a similar strength. That's like saying why not play 11 creative midfielders.
Whites man
So 10 openside flankers, a couple of wingers and a full back.

You know me too well V Maggie would miss me if I went, I'm the best sounding board he has The only slight interest for me is the disparity between the 25-30,000 and '70,000' quoted by the mayor. Must have meant travelling Wallies fans too I suppose? What a nail biter that was. The win all that matters. Don't suppose our RL friends will want to acknowledge 4 great tries? One more win and I'll be happy. Crush them in The Ashes and all will be well with the world.

Members bolty58
Mate. We see tries like that every week. We don't need to cream over them. Slight difference. These were a result of craft, guile, speed and vision rather than bludgeoning the opposition into submission by way of slugfest. Here, fishy fishy
