How about a straw poll: who thinks folk washing their feet in work's sink is bad mannered and disgusting?

Tick

Yes or No

Haha - aye, a WWays poll that involves tolerating Muslims? :D

Brilliant.

Yes.

Filthy bastards.

We are on the boarder-line of tolerance, with your own goals, spazzy.

I'm bringing a bowl so you can wash my feet at half time tonight.

Thats the trouble isn't it? It isn't an intolerance of religion and talk like that makes my teeth itch. It had to be a slur against the minority doesn't it rather than an intolerance of filthy habits.

Why bad manners and disgusting?

When I use the sink I turn the tap on, put soap on my hands, wash under the tap and then turn it off.

Do you fill it up to the top and have a full-on stand up wash?

Baron Stinge-ly (see what I did there?) does, when he's got a hot date with Bella or he's run out of Wet Wipes.

Im going to be honest here now. Tolerance is kind of my point.

Now we can all almost agree, that that religion has hardly evolved, less so than most other religions, and it seems its the non-Muslim countries & people, that are the ones that have to evolve, just to fit their out-dated and ancient practises.

It feels like we are having to change our tolerance every bloody week, as to not upset the 1000 year old "traditions".

Im not sure how comfortable I feel with this, or one day a group of Muslims congregating in the Corner of the Gwladys street to pray.....Ironically in a stand attached and named after a Christian Church.....or is that also an outdated (racist) view ?!?!

Exactly it Nb.

I'm not intolerant of Muslims not any other race or religion.

But I think huddling together with 20 of your mates to pray at football match with 35,000 people present is nothing more than going to the extremes to prove they can do what they want.

I think washing your feet in a public/workplace sink is the actions of a fucking animal, and again just a silly stunt to show how extreme they can be.

I know two Muslims really well, work for one and the other owns a cafe I go in,both are practising Muslims.

They don't wash their feet in public sinks, not do they shit in bins, and they don't all of sudden disappear to a corner of a room to pray.

It's complete bollocks.

As Nadia muslim friend tells me,religion is in your heart,if you believe... you are.

I.e not having to carry out disgusting/controversial habits in public to prove your religious beliefs.

Besides agreeing with Smiffs, I find myself in the unfamiliar position of agreeing with Maggie and NB.

I just nipped outside to see if the earth was still orbiting the sun.

Simple question to DazBob and co. Esteghal Tehran FC play, say, Celtic in some international competition or other. Some Celtic extreme religious weirdos go into a corner and go through their equally odd religious repertoire.

Would the locals be likely to:-

1) Politely ignore and just leave them to it.

2) Encircle them and chant 'Irans, Irans, Irans'

3) Behave like rabid dogs and tear them to pieces.

I think I know which it would be. It's inflammatory and has no place in football stadia.

Wouldn't happen...

They'd have been knocked out in the 'round of 128' by Ammonia Nicosia or someone else, equally illustrious.

I really don't think we should be taking our moral compass from what happens in Tehran.

Regarding feet, if someone's just come out of the toilet having had a massive, messy dump that's taken half of a toilet roll and five moist wipes to clean up, you'd be disgusted if they didn't wash their hands, right?  Yet someone takes their foot out of a flip-flop to wash it and that's more disgusting.  Hmmm.

Oh, and Bolty - I'm not saying what they do can't and doesn't incite problems.  We've seen that on the video in the opening post of this thread.

I just think it's sad that folk (of any walk of life) can't go about their lives in the way they want if it isn't bringing harm to anyone.  Happen that's just me though.

And the rest of your leftist cable.

I don't understand the issue with washing your feet if that is part of your religious beliefs. As long as it's done in a discreet way then so be it. I bet there are plenty on here that don't wash their hands after going to the toilet in the pub which is far more disgusting in my view

What about spitting in a sink ??

Same as waring a burkha, washing your feet is not requirement of religion.

It's an extended show of faith.

I thought they were praying underneath the stand 10 mins before half time when the concourse was at it quietist or have I read this wrong?

Thought they had to pray at that specific time??

Now are you saying they purposely went ten minutes before half time because it was quiet??

Which is it?

I didn't say either...I thought the initial article said they were praying 10 mins before halftime so I'm assuming it was 5.30pm k.o. so lets say it was 6pmish which, i'm guessing. is the time they are meant to pray. Why can't folk just be a little more tolerant of others when they are just getting on with what they believe in?  You'll be saying next that mothers can't breastfeed their children in a public place because it is offensive to some...get a grip!

They could have waited until the game had finished.

They could have waited until the game had finished.

Just worked it out

looks like they were praying 10 minutes after City took a 1-0 lead

maybe they were praying for a hammers come back?

Allah must be a city fan

Allah Bernabia?

whether they prayed at half time, full time or any time what does it matter? They are doing no harm to anyone, they're not forcing others to join in so I really don't understand the issue unless some on here are really so intolerant of anything remotely religious that they'll find any excuse to argue against it
