Thank you SpazNob, I'm glad it's not just me   Megson has got better and better in some folk's eyes just because OC was ultimately a disaster   Some of them (Cassie et al) revel in the fact that h

  • PG: Well Mr Allardyce, I must say I'm most impressed by your enthusiasm and vision for the club. But I see you've only got 102 games at Blackpool and 145 at Notts County behind you. We cannot possibly

  • To obsess about Coyle makes people look petty like they haven't moved on. But fuck it, I'm getting a lot of pleasure out of his struggles at Wigan. His midas touch didn't let him down today, the Wig

He could always throw Europe and in the manner of doing so, really miss-manage and piss off his 1st team players, so that they put in one of the worst performances in memory in the next game?

That would suit us wouldn't it

Dream scenario

My mate/boss at work (wiggener) went and said Coyle is "fucking clueless" not 1 fan he knows wanted him because of his links to us and they had apparently over 40 applicants and if he's the best of the 40+ there's something wrong with Whelans state of mind unless Coyle was the cheapest as Whelan is a "tight cunt"

He plays players out of position all the time and all he does is jump up out of his seat with his "stupid fucking shorts on" claps his hands and sits back down again.

This we lost at Wigan lark, I went to that game and remember Borghetti missing from about 3mm out. Was it really such a bad performance?

They were down to 10 men for 89min - not winning was criminal

davies missed at least one sitter, too

anybody blaming the manager for pro footballers on 20k a week sulking cos their employer decided to prioritise the competition that paid their vast salaries wants to go see the head doctor

these same people probably believe we would've won the thing

Jesus, think I'd blocked Davies' header from my memory until you mentioned it then. Did very well to not score from that position

"We've rested players midweek for this game and clearly it hasn't worked because we didn't turn up or start well.

"We looked lethargic and leggy and weren't good enough and we are right in the cart.

Not sure I can run with that. I think the fact they cared that we were throwing our chances down the toilet is quite refreshing.

I would much rather they cared a bit than merely collecting a pay packet.

Whatever anyone says we threw what could of been arguably the biggest moment in bwfc's history (certainly in my life time anyway) with a whimper.

This isn't a who's to blame rant but it was and still is a crap decision.

This was on Twitter today, with the comment 'says everything'

I left with 20 odd minutes to go, justified it to myself on the fact I had to pick my lad up.

good decision or bad decision its not their call

anyway, lets not let us going out in lisbon kid ourselves that we were going to beat them with a full team, let alone win the fooking thing

my recollection of the first leg is we battered em for 4 minutes cos it was a bit cold then chased the ball for the rest of the night

I love how the players' motivation or lack of is never Megson's fault

ROFLCOPTER

have you made that appointment yet?

have you made that appointment yet?

Have you sucked Gary off again yet

"it's never his fault"

If Gary Megson had of put a full strength team out in Lisbon then still got beat he would have been equally if not more criticised.

And like I've said before he was acting under fooking orders.

Did we ever actually put a full team out in any of euro games in either campaign?

Members of the 1% praising Megson just so they can slag off Coyle.

Both were shite and needed replacing in the end. Both got us results in the Premiership sometimes, something that got us a few more Prem season, so we wouldn't have got DF if they didn't, Coyle is doing better than DF at present this season.

Don't talk shit.

I look at facts Dids, and in not blinded by dislike of a person.

Megson had to due to circumstances that simply couldn't carry on.

BUT...Gary Megsons managerial record at Bolton did not lead to his sacking.

That's what I have issue with.

i don't care if he comes across a wanker or has bad PR skills, the fact of the matter is that his record at Bolton was everything that was asked of him.

Job 1: reduce wage bill, get rid of high earners and keep us up....he did.

Job 2:all of the above/mid- table ...he did.

Job 3:all of the above once more/mid-table...he probably would have done but that remains down to opinion.

When he was sacked we weren't cut a drift without hope, far from it.

As I've said a millions times, the football was grim, but its never been any better before or since bar 2 months honeymoon with coyle.

If you think Megson I cunt, crack on...doesn't alter the fact that he did and would have carried on doing a decent job at our football club.

As for coyle...he just got found out,but simply not soon enough.

without looking back, am pretty certain that wasn't his remit and he didn't do it either

well, he certainly didn't "get rid" of anelka and diouf, am sure he'd have kept them given half a chance

and i doubt his jan spending would've reduced the bill by much

the good spell under coyle was more like august to april - that was a most enjoyable time on and off the pitch

well said all this anti megson shit really fucks me off I've said it before his PR skills were not the best but the guy was booed before he fucking started by so called Bolton fans how pathetic!. As for coyle shame as apart from his tactics he was a decent bloke,it didn't work but there you go I've no bad feelings or bitterness like some.

Megson kept us up but the wage bill rocketed up in his time (see the published accounts) and he spent a few quid as well.

However Gartside has since explained his "people in football will understand the appointment" comment and Megson had a tougher task than simply looking at the league table would indicate.

Megson would've taken us down. Coyle coming in simply delayed it for a bit.  IMO.

I'd agree with that. Megson was a sticking plaster, Coyle was a bandage. Freedman is the major surgery.

change bandage to tosser and i am in

what i would say tho is that the major surgery should be easier in this league than the premier league

so, well done owen for lowering expectations

Although not ideal, Lisbon would've been more than understandable had they not performed so badly at Wigan

It was HIS job to manage those players that didn't go to Portugal

HIS job to get them going

HIS job to get a result at Wigan however he did it

HE failed at both Lisbon and Wigan because he mismanaged the players

As HE constantly did

Folk are looking back and forgetting his harm (on and off the pitch) because Coyle was a shocker

Like wise folk look back at his tenure on the pitch as a disaster because he followed the success of big Sam.

Off the pitch it was a disaster you're right, but was that all his fault?

I don't think it was.
