Teachers Again

Apologies to those that do a tough job and work hard without moaning. Lecturers and even those in training dor a tough job...You know who you are ;)

However

I have a few of them moaning all the time on my FB wall about pay and conditions...

And 3 of the fuckers are posting pics today in expensive ski-ing resorts

Now fair enough

But stop moaning that you're on the breadline...is it bred into them at PGCE that they must moan about their salaries?!

You couldn't make it up.

And another laughable thing about this soppy set of mardarses...apparently they work 55+ hours a week. Take away 10 hours for working all day Saturday (like they 'd have you believe) that leaves still 45 hours Monday to Friday, that's 9 hours a day average.

Add half an hour through the day for brews, smooks, etc and assume they get in at 7.30am (stop sniggering at the back) then that means they are working solid until 5pm, 5 days a week. Even at 8-4 (which is more reasonable given the state of the car parks whenever I go into school) plus two hours at home does not add up....and there is still the 10 hours on Saturday. Only when Ofsted roll up and they're running around catching up doing the shit they should have been doing anyway, will you see cars on the car park after 4pm.

So I'm sensing 'horseshit'. I'm sensing they're including travel time, smook time, brew time.... and then just making up the fucking rest - they're never going to admit to only doing 40 hours a week are they?

Perm any 1 from 100 55 hour per week scenarios, none of them add up to the hours they reckon they are all doing every single week without fail.

If you'd said 55 hours work per month, I think you'd have been in the right area.

Don't doubt they have busy weeks but not 55hrs every single week.

The last fortnight of every term they're sat doing fuck all with the kids apart from swapping the dvd over.

900 at the conference and they voted for strike action.....

Hardly a fair representation....it's about time people fucked these unions off

"unfair pensions"

Yes, unfair, but not to teachers

I heard the 55 hours a week thing. Aye, in term time but work that over a year and I'm having they do less than me and I think I've got a bobby's job.

Amused me that the kids are insulting them int social media

National surveys done recently showed secondary Teachers working just under 50 hours per week, with Headteachers averaging 57/58

Primary school teachers doing slightly more at 50.2 hours a week..

However I'd imagine this is excluding lunch and breaks as mentioned above..

I know most spend a few hours at weekend planning lessons,  which would make it about 9 hours a day,

Starting at 8am till 4pm, minus 1 hour for breaks is 7 hours with about 2.5 hours marking/planning at night... sounds about right..

There are always people who will lead you to believe they are lone martyrs etc

FWIW I used to work 50-58 hours a week in retail as an assistant Manager, which is pretty much same salary as a teachers....

16 weeks non-teaching per year.

I had this shite with my brother-in-law (yet again!) yesterday, when I reminded him that not everyone gets 7 weeks off when the best weather arrives.

He said "We only get about 4 really"

At which point I poured gravy on him and told him to fuck off.

Even if they use up half of their "holidays" planning classes, they're on 8 weeks a year.

I've just worked it out and with the early Friday finish, I'm doing less hours even with their holidays

Ha ha! :)

I don't think they all have a bobbys job, I just don't think what they do warrants overly spectacular rewards like they'd have you think they deserve. Lollypop ladies are important, I don't see them thinking they're social martyrs.

Decent salary, decent hours, decent pension...they've got the lot but expect more and rattle their toys against the cot when someone dare question what it is they do on a day to day basis, or asks them to become a bit more accountable for their wages.

The checkout girls in asda have individual targets to meet and have performace reviews to map their credentials without bitching, so why not teachers?

Graduated, got a teaching job, got cheggers.

Baby born November 2013. Decided to start her maternity leave on the first day back after October half-term, so she could get the half-term break as "work time"

Told the head at 9.10am on the day back that she felt unwell and because it's within so many days of her due date, she then had to start her leave.

I'm not sure how it works, but her leave ends on something like 1st August or whatever, ie a couple of days or so after term ends, so she's going back in "early" (her words not mine) for the last week (3 days in fact). That way she'll be back on full pay for the summer holidays and I'm not convinced she isn't jacking it in when September comes to become a "private tutor".

I told her she was a cunt.

He's handed in his resignation also. Looks as though he wanted to quit so he could go to the world cup but they've given him the unpaid leave and asked him to work until the end of the term.

Sounds fair enough to me

Dave... don't be bringing facts into it !!

Someone wants a career change after a "trip of a lifetime", tenders resignation, School ask him to stay on after to help the school out..he agree's

non-story tbh

So he makes an unreasonable demand, has it granted and after a brief brouhaha wanders straight back into his 'job.' He should have been granted a year off. His pupils would have benefitted. If there is another profession so attractive to drop outs underachievers and feckless retards with meaningless degrees than teaching, I don't know of it. They should be culled.

During a week long half term break, I usually work two or three days out of the five we have off

Fucking hell, poor lambs.

Running a home? What century was this poll done in?

Running a home? What century was this poll done in?

To be fair my sister gave up being a deputy head due to having no home life at all.

some do work very hard and a lot don't.

Saying that I imagine like everyone they worry about paying bills.

Glad I am unable to get a mortgage sometimes so don't have the problems of bills. Hopefully my mum will be sick of me soon and move my cot elsewhere
