Plums Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Under Coyle, Eagles had practically a free role to do what the fuck he liked. Hence his results, now some would argue he needed that freedom, but that was at the expense of other players and formation. I couldn't see him working in our current set up. Quote
Zico Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I agree Here's one.... Who do you reckon was shittest - Coyle or Dougie? Dougie by a fucking mile Quote
anewman Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I agree Here's one.... Who do you reckon was shittest - Coyle or Dougie? Freedman Coyle at least tried to interact with players and fans Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Freedman was on a different planet to the rest of us .His team selection & tactics delusional his only chance of sucess was the infernal bingo machine & revolving loan door. Coyle was just tactically niave Quote
Sweep Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I agree that Freedman was worse than Coyle. It'll be interesting to see where Freedman will pitch up next, because no doubt he'll get another job in the near future, even though he made a right pigs ear of managing us Quote
anewman Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Why the fuck did gartside not sack him sooner? Quote
Sweep Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Why the fuck did gartside not sack him sooner? ED didn't want him to Quote
Carlos Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 We should have sacked him as soon as NL was available as this was always his no.1 choice of job. Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Freedman had an effective role as the hatchet man at Bolton. Between him and Gartside, a lot of credit has to be given for us not being hit with a FFP transfer ban. Admittedly he was a shit man-manager and his tactics were bollocks (I was ever the optimist and willing to give him far more time than he deserved in all honesty), but he did serve a purpose and in the grand scheme of things it might be that he was an important cog in the Wanderers machine. On Eagles, I'd have him back. He will be VERY humbled by his past 12 months and will most likely buy into what Lenny is bringing to the club. It wasn't too long ago that Eagles was saying he wanted to spend the rest of his career at Bolton, and that's when Freedman was here. There's no doubting the boy has talent, but he just needs to get rid of the diva chip off of his shoulder. Quote

Mounts Kipper Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Shit fan central. I would call it not really a Bolton fan central. Quote
kent_white Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I'm not sure I could sanction the return of a man who pays that much attention to his eyebrows. Quote

Between him and Gartside, a lot of credit has to be given for us not being hit with a FFP transfer ban I once did some work at a place, where they appointed someone who patently wasn't suited to the role. However, he sorted things out, got rid of some dead wood etc. and was then given the bullet himself. Quote

The CEO of our company is world-renowned at cutting costs. In a scarily similar vein, we've probably kept hold of her for too long as well. Quote
MalcolmW Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 If we were interested in little Chris, would he not command a fee, being an employee of Blackpool? A fee which we don't seem to have, no matter how small. Know (fuck all) it all Nixon, tweeting "don't go there" when questioned about Bolton in comings in Jan. the comments echo is comments from Pre-season this and last season. If, this is the case, can't see NL (needing to) hanging around for long with no funds. In Many people's eyes hes already proved himself and his profile will keep him in the limelight (see BBC, Sky and many Radio interviews we've already seen/heard). I'm sure there are envious glances being cast in our/his direction by other championship and maybe even Premeier League clubs now.......... He is on a short-term contract until mid January. So available to sign for free within the window. Why did he go there for buttons? Because it was the only way he could showcase his talents for all to see. Quote

COYW Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 It'll be interesting to see where Freedman will pitch up next, because no doubt he'll get another job in the near future I doubt it. Can't see him getting another management job anytime soon. Not at a football club anyway. Quote

That's before we even start with his record in the transfer market. How exactly does signing a player like Baptiste on 'eye-watering' wages fit with FFP? Getting rid of players whose contracts were expiring isn't difficult. Signing shit players for less money is even less difficult. Quote

When we missed out on that in his first season, and with the threat of FFP looming, his job changed to bringing the club finances back in line. It's not THAT hard to comprehend that targets can change from season to season. Quote
