How Long?

Do we give Dougie? I am a big fan and I can't see us getting anyone better, but if there is no sign of his "plan"it's time to take a gamble on someone else.

I said all last season and the start of this season I would give him until 10 games into this season and I would reassess.

So after Fulham I guess.

I appreciate how hard a job it has been and I am a big believer in giving managers time. I think he has signed well and has a fantastic eye for a player.

His team selections and change in formation every single game drives me fucking insane and it is costing us big time and ultimately that is the most important part of his job.

I want to see a settled side and formation every single game but there is no sign that is ever going to happen.

I don't think he's anything like Coyle and do believe there is a very good manager in there he just maybe tries to over complicate things.

For that reason i want to see it out , partly because I don't want to see him come good somewhere else after learning from his mistakes and partly because i'm scared of who the next appointment  might be. People think it can't get any worse but it really can.

but then that is just blind belief

basically I don't know

It can get a whole lot worse - just look at the 80s. Given the club's stated financial black hole (if/until ED wipes out the debt), 'getting worse' is practically guaranteed.

Maybe the question is more about do we want to get worse fighting it (ready for a future rebound) or get worse in apathy.

I said 10 games at the beginning of this were nine in ,I might get something right for once

Reportedly there was a long meeting after the game on Saturday between Brett Warburton, ED and PG, obviously the managers position would have been discussed and the outcome was DF will be in place on Wednesday, no other comments came form that meeting, I have a hunch that were looking at a replacement and that DF will be replaced as soon as we have identified the man to replace him.

Garry flitcroft in - cant do any worse the dougie

Let's hope so,if he does turn out to be the dogs bollocks (very unlikely) so be it,we need brown in now

He won't come good. This is as good as it gets. I know I sound like a broken record but look at his record at Palace. It's almost identical to what he has done here. This is what he does.

He was appointed on the back of a 6 or 7 game winning streak. Was a ridiculous appointment.

Appointing the wrong Flitcroft brother wouldn't be a good start.

I think this is the case as well Mounts, I think anybody that thinks they're doing absolutely nothing and not even considering what other options are available when we're in such a dire position is being daft.

I'm pretty sure they know now that it's not going to turn around, I think they have waited too long but I suppose giving him 10 games with 'his' team could be considered fair. It's just about finding a replacement now and getting the timing right to do it, they probably looked at the midweek game at Fulham and thought this wasn't the best time to get rid. Again I would just have him out personally as soon as possible as I struggle to see us winning a game with him here but I can kind of see a reasoning as to why he hasn't been sacked yet.

a narrow defeat and he'll still be manager on saturday

3 or 4 nil and they'll change it

if a decision had been taken that he was going theyd have pulled the trigger today

theres plenty 'capable' candidates within the club

i just hope that phillips and whoever are better at producing a first team than they are at producing kids to play in it

Just checked to see how Gartside and Davies have done it in the past.

Sammy Lee - Lost to Chelsea on the Sunday, sacked 11am on the wednesday.

Megson - drew with Hull Tuesday, sacked on the Wednesday but can't find the time

Coyle - lost to Milwall on the Saturday, sacked on the Tuesday at 10:30am

So what's the odds on the next championship manager to be potted?

One man I would of loved to see as BWFC manager...Gary speed.

Big Ron until the end of the season. He would have the right motivational words for a few of our players

I don't remember anyone saying that at the time.

I'd take someone to manage what we have properly to begin with.

See, now that is a good post.

Excellent info Garrpo  :good:

There were loads on here questioning the appointment.

Iam guessing we didn't have a mid week game when those sackings occurred?

Coyle was international break so there were 14 days until the next game.

Megson was Tuesday with an FA Cup game against Lincoln on the Saturday but no league game for 19 days!

Sammy Lee was international break with 13 days until the next game

So it looks like we can be pretty certain if the decision is made to replace him then it will be after the this weekend.

Basically id guess he's been told he has Fulham and Bournemouth to save his job.

if he doesnt keep it, monday or tuesday morning at 11 id guess it will be announced.

he'll get the Fulham game am sure

and looking to the immediate future, there's a "winnable" home game and a "6 pointer" with Brum next up - 3 big games

with the international break before the Brum one, I expect he'll get the next 2

if they don't go our way, a sacking and a couple of weeks to prepare for a massive game v brum

Top man good info there. It does make sense too.

He's a dead man walking and he knows it

U21s Lost 3-0 away to Villa this afternoon , Zach Cough missed a penalty.

I said at the start of the season id give him until the October international break, I would still give him the next two games but get rid after them.

If we somehow win them both, it'd be a rough decision to make but hopefully a replacement is already being lined up.
