Seems a joke to me. Not being able to turn on your phone doesn't mean you will blow a plane up. My devices regularly run out of battery when waiting round in airports for delayed planes.

hahaha, 350 blown to bits cos the gay welshie cant keep some charge on his phone

my understanding is that the battery gets removed from these devices to allow a bomb to be rigged

thats if the security types are telling us the truth, obvs

as a regular traveller I'm surprised you aren't understanding why they need to do this

if we can be outdone by them changing the battery to an explosive device then its a sorry state of affairs.

also kids liquids are back to one tiny clear bag....so don't be packing too much as they chuck the lot. 4 women in front of me suffered this fate.

Why take the risk if they have reason to believe some cunt might bomb a plane?

Not the end of the world for normal passengers is it? It would be if the bomber got on though.

So what if your phone runs out of battery FFS are folk that desperate they have to keep in contact with other folk eveywhere they go, WW, Twatter, FB etc, get a fuking life. The last thing i think about when i'm away is you miserable fuckers.

I've no sympathy with folk who get stuff taken off them at airports, they know the rules

I read that you have to prove that your device turns on as terrorists could pack the battery compartment with explosives. They are not stopping you taking a charger with you.

That's numb even for you!

if technology is at a level companies like EADS have us believe then they should be able to detect this stuff.

I flew Friday. Got all my liquids took out of my clear bag I brought them in, crammed into a tiny clear bag at security. Then got a bollocking for taking a curling wand and had my bag searched then another bollocking for texting on my phone whilst waiting in the queue. Oh then the cash machine swallowed my bank card once past security, was fun.

that's where I am. Also I was on a small plastic bag only for liquids on my last trip and I can't say it bothered me for the few hours I was without my vanity case.

Having said that, in Bali they didn't seem to give a shit which made me feel uncomfortable & seemed odd with their previous history with bombs.

The whole thing is a fucking joke.

Don't give a fuck anywhere else in the world.

Totally OTT.

Flying these days is totally unpleasurable especially if travelling with children.

make is as unpleasurable as they want for me

I couldn't give a fuck as long as it stops me going head first into the twin towers

Not as unpleasant as being blown up, I don’t get the problem I had to do the same thing 8 years ago when I worked offshore, everything had to be powered on before we could board the helicopter
