Where Do You See Us In 5 Years?

Things are pretty bleak at the minute and it's difficult to see how or when they will improve.

We were 4th Div when I started going and have been very lucky to to see us only get better and better; but this current slide, combined with a seeming apathy from the club (which finances obviously contribute to), does make we wonder what the future holds:

New Owners and Champions League debut?

Administration?

Back in the Prem?

League one also rans?

Personally, I would guess we will most likely be in this league for a while now, which is a bit rubbish really considering the last decade.

I don't go so much anymore, what with living away - #shitfan, but from what I hear the football is gash and the crowds seem to be thinning pretty rapidly this year.  I really hope there is a turn around, and it looks like a new manager is needed for that.  What worries me most is that my fear that we would bottom-out (without the upturn) when we were relegated, seems to be coming true.

What do the good folk of Wanderersways reckon?

Apologies if this thread has been done before!

In 5 years I see us where we are now, hanging around lower to mid table of The Championship

Bankrupt!!

Bankrupt!!

Whats happending now is to ensure thats doesn't happen

5 years older 5 years shitter

In League 1 or 2.

We've been crap and have declined season by season since January 1st 2007.

Losing to Liverpool on New Years Day after we had won 5 games in a row and were in a Champions League place to this nightmare now.

It's a joke that we've declined so quickly after the players we've had and the decade+ we've been a Prem team.

2 seasons in the Championship and some people have lowered their expectations so much that losing or drawing to teams like Nottingham Forest and Watford isn't that bad because the best we can do is mid-table in the Championship and they'll be pushing for promotion.

There are no signs of better, a terrible manager in charge, the worst team I've seen us ever have and we have no money to improve and no incentives, only the extreme optimist could see anything but carried on decline.

We will be in the Championship, but we will have spent two seasons in League One and be back on the up.

some on here will remember when Forest would have ripped us a new arse hole, but like use they failed and like us will have to start all over again, maybe a bit before your time

This, very much this.

God knows, we need money because I don't think Dougie is the next big thing is he,are we ever going to hear anything from e.d on what's really going on? league one or prem doubt Weil go bust

Clinging on in this division more than likely ... League One if our luck runs out.

No idea but I'll have a front row seat to find out ........

#superfan

Oh and it's a safe bet Douglas freedman won't be the manager I reckon

More recently, we would've ripped Forest to pieces.

It is the see-saw that is football

Top of the premiership with all these rough diamonds DF is polishing coming to the fore.

That or mid-table championship

Thats my point, you cant expect to beat some one just becasue we where good in 2007, you cant expect to beat anyone even if your where good last week, you have to earn the right to win, and clowns like dids seem to forget that fact

and thats where me n you differ

i put my hard earned in when we were really shit

i still do now

its what allows me to call myself a fan

you?

you're just an observer

i pity you

We have been in the top division at some point every decade since league football began so we'll be back, not saying in the next 5 years, but we will be back.

I mentioned on here before what Alan gowling said he will never see Bolton in the top flight in his lifetime again

gowling is a humourless cnut

why do you think he knows owt

It depends on where Eddie Davies is up to with the grim reaper I'm afraid. The debt keeps mounting and getting offset by his eventual estate and the club just about treads water. On the other hand do we want rescuing by Thai or Quatari saviours? I think not. Number one we need to stay in this division for the next few seasons; with the current manager that is not easy too see.

I don't give a fuck, watching the Whites will always be a roller coaster ride.

I still pay for Bolton stuff, if you pity me for not enjoying the experience anymore(and I loved it) than fine.

You can be a fan, but there's no doubt we've declined since 07 and now are a terrible.

I reckon we will be where Derby are now.

Few years of consolidation at this level and then back fishing round for promotion.

We are never away for long.

We need to avoid relegation at all costs, because then, the shit would really hit the fan.

Hope so they felt as low as we do towards the end of Cloughs time McLaren comes in turns out they had all the right pieces to the puzzle just in the wrong places - queue a Rioch moment then! And you know what if it takes us on the journey it did then it'll be fucking brilliant

This is where I am with Freedman. Whilst I don't think this squad is promotion material I feel with some belief, motivation & good organisation we should be pushing up & around the play offs. Unfortunately I can only see us in the bottom half boring every cnut to death under Dougie.
