Not in Crawley
No nerve touched, it's just not true to say that a centre left party would never get into power without Scotland. Also, whatever happens, as I said previously nothing is going to stay the same now; the only status quo will be on their next world tour, Alan. Â And again to say Salmon is a communist marks you out as a bit foolish. If you'd have said he's an odious prick, I'd have agreed. Â Seems like there is ill informed opinions and half truths on both sides of the boarder.

He was, along with other group leaders, suspended from membership of the SNP when the 79 Group was banned within the larger party. It's fine to be a Trot or flirt with extremism when you're 17 and angry and confused but what is important is that you grow out of it and don't become tempted in adult life to things like environmentalism, wind farms and pacifism. Youri McAnespie
As was his far superior and much missed brother Christopher. And many of the senior members of New Labour. It's fine to be a Trot or flirt with extremism when you're 17 and angry and confused but what is important is that you grow out of it and don't become tempted in adult life to things like environmentalism, wind farms and pacifism. I was tempted by a windfarm t'other week, it offered me a toke on a spliff, but I politely declined. Â Organized environmentalism is another sphere riddled with impractical dogmas, but I see nowt wrong in looking after one's own patch of the planet, reducing consumption of utter shite and unnecessary consumables is a start. The Earth's resources are finite, I see nowt wrong with spinning them out as long as it's not to the detriment of human progress - a dancing Coke Can or ten disposable lighters for a quid isn't human progress. Â Pacifism, well, as long as there's folk out there bent on destroying our way of life, it's something else that needs to be ignored, just because I don't want to eat the dog, I realise that doesn't mean the dog is similarly uninterested in making a meal of me. Members bolty58
Do you not see the irony in calling me predictable and then posting this? Of course! Get with the programme. Â I'm afraid the majority of English folk would quite happily keep the Union as is. You can't prove that just as I can't prove the other way. Let the people speak (and they spoke in Switzerland). Â Hardly a socialist paradise, the SNP are more rightwing than Labour, its Salmon's political nous that allows him to be seen as both left, centre and right; that's because he plays the nationalist card very well. Right. Left. Makes no matter. They are going down the tubes if they vote to part and it will be a delicious watch. Â I'd move to Edinburgh or Glasgow in a heartbeat, not because of my political leanings, just because I think they are wonderful cities, made a lot of friends there and the cost of living is so much better, my children are in the south east, and until they are old enough to fly the nest, I'll be down here. Shame. Kent tells me you look good in a skirt.
Members bolty58
NIC is correct in his last pronouncement. Whatever the outcome of next weeks vote there will be increasing demands for devolutionary powers in the future for all parts of the UK - or what's left of it. Hopefully this won't lead to yet another (4th) tier of government.   ENP anyone? Â As for the majority of English not wanting to break up the Union, you're right there has been no polls conducted, however living in England, even in a Tory heartland, and with a massive Scottish regiment based 2 miles away, I'd say the general feeling is it's all needless and the UK would rather be preserved. What's the feeling on the ground in Summer Bay? Â As for the spelling, apologies; it's true, I am as numb as a piss stone. You got me. I'm afraid I've never worn a kilt and would never wear one, nothing more cringeworthy than an Englishman wearing a kilt. I look the business in a twinset though. Not in my neck of the woods comrade. In Little England here in the West however, clearly a case of "I hope they really do fuck off". I do not know one ex-pat Englishman who wants them to stay connected to England. frankietheman
Just for interest, 2 polls today mentioned on breakfast tv have the no vote ahead by a narrow margin. Looks like going to the wire this one.
Not in Crawley
where I live nic they say get fucked, and I'd say the majority if english do,try a poll on here Well it's all meaningless conjecture. The only people I hear saying get fucked are the ones who when asked know the littlest about what would happen if the Union shrinks.
