I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Funny to see majority of that City crowd at seg line trying to get over stewards to Liverpool's lot rather than celebrate the goal

Always amuses me that at City they need about 3 seats and a row of stewards and we need a 20' drop, 2 lots of netting and half the WSL as segregation between away and home supporters at Reebok Macron Unibol

I used to go on the South Lower when it was half and half about the 99-01 seasons, I cant remember the layout of the concourse below, it must have been blocked off between the home fans bar and the away one. Barmaids used to pull loads of pints ready for half time.

One of the worst "segregations" was at West Ham in the QF of the League Cup. All that separated Bolton from WHU fans was a staircase. No stewards, police, bugger all.

Sounds like Madrid....

Should have gone in the FA cup in 77, no away end. Fucking nightmare that day.

I was stood underneath the corporate boxes at the back in Madrid. It was fairly quiet up there.

A waist high rope and 2 policewomen, one at either end, away at Middlesbrough at Ayresome Park, day before Bonfire Night '86

Great night that, just across the aisle from us was 2 big black lads was i happy when we scored the thirdth ya  and they fucked off, pre Matc we went in the Boleyn pub which is their main pub, winnys brother kicked it off  locals weren’t best please but we managed to get away without a good hiding, after the game our mini bus had its tyres let down, thankfully another mini bus off Bolton lads stayed us and we had the numbers so no further hassle, no idea who the Bolton lads were but they did us a big favour that night.

You must have been sat near me. The black guy nearest us must have had a 24" neck. He was fucking massive.

Also was present that night cops opened gates at same time as home fans, all in could see down the terrace streets opposite was 100s of boro waiting to fill us in, cops decided to shut the gates as no one left the stadium , 20 minutes later gates reopened and we left hurriedly back to the vans and coaches.

It was fucking rough in those days, when I started taking my son to the same away grounds, it was like a walk in the park compared to the 70s and 80s.:D

Burnley in the long side. Segregation between the fences was massive. I lived in Burnley for a short time as a student and had attended the game with some Burnley lads. We scored in the first minute or two and I decided I'd be unable to contain myself so I spoke to a cop at the bottom gate and he let me through. Problem was, the cop manning the Bolton side gate was diagonally opposite, right at the top. As I walked between the two gates, all the Bolton fans decided I must have had a single-handed attempt at taking their end and cheered. All the Burnley mob were baying at me for being Bolton. All I could think of was "For fuck's sake, don't trip!"

West Ham was mental

guys in suits wadding in but not sure if it was West Ham or bolton

Had many a beer in "home" pubs at away matches and sometimes got talking to the home fans. I often wonder if they involved themselves with the shenanigans of the late 70s.

Actually, you have a grudging respect for one another when you survived your teens and twenties on those battlegrounds of the away terraces.

Bernado Silva ran 13.7km last night.

I can see the issues managers and players have with fixture congestion when you see a stat like that. To recover fully from that and train in between in the matter of 3 days is a tall ask. Fair fucks to em.

some game that, they are miles ahead of anything else in europe at the minute

I think that he may be rested along with others for Citehs FA Cup tie against Rotherham on Sunday.

I could run 13.7km in 90 minutes. JSL.

Right now a Barcelona vs Man City or Liverpool final would be good.

I love the comment further down, maybe from someone on here even: "parents are vegans" :)

It's another goal for ALF for the Dog & Duck, quickest anyone's ever hit 10 goals in the A League.
