Reading on the Scouse Echo pages tonight, one lad nailed it. The match between Millwall and Everton goes back to Feb 73 when Millwall tried to take the Gladys St End, 2 slashed and a few more stabbed. Those Cockneys have a good memory for payback.

Our run ins with Chelsea in the 70s and 80s stem from Bolton going on the shed in a cup match in the late 60s I’m led to believe, I was chased across the riverside end at Fulham by Chelsea mid 70s because of that.
