I live in Preston and have bumped into him from time to time and he's a properly sound guy in the flesh. Guess he's just playing a role on telly. A shit one.

Lawrenson's had his day, Didn't mind him to be honest in a quirky way.

Not many good pundits coming through,  but like Liam Rosenior on Quest, not a big enough name for the big companies though.

Danny Murphy comes out with some decent stuff but sends you to sleep with his monotone Cheshire drawl.

I was impressed with Lee Hendrie's enthusiasm, knowledge and humour doing the Bury game last night. As a neutral, why don't bury let any fans behind the goal? I'm struggling to think of another league club where home fans are restricted to watching from 2 stands. Smaller clubs like Accrington and Macclesfield don't have such a small club mentality.

When they last won the cup (the record score, and not conceding at all) they finished 8th. Bolton were the strongest team in the league, 6 points adrift of the field.

Interesting bit about how the safe standing scheme is used at Shrewsbury here; each slot is individually ticketed as we knew but you also get a wristband for access and a steward checking each person entering the area.

It seems quite a regimented and controlled "freedom", which might increase the chances of safe standing being allowed across the divisions.
