Declan John seemed to have a cracking day down the left side for Salford yesterday and how good was Sarce for z Stockport now topping L2. I don’t believe we’ve yet really replaced Sarce in midfield and I believe we’d still be a stronger squad with both still here.

There’s some very good reasons (some we know about, some that we don’t or aren’t public knowledge) why both Fat Sarce and Declan John are both playing football in the 4th tier of professional football.

Probably wages with John but we've seen enough to know he can cut it at L1 level in terms of ability 

Sarc looked decent at times but shit others, didn't see enough of him, and he went to L2 for more money

Don’t disagree about ability. 

But as we know plenty of talented players don’t fulfil their potential.

Application, attitude and character need to be there as well - Sarce and DJ were lacking in those areas - wouldn’t want either of them back.

Didn’t hear too much about Dapo, but it may explain his deterioration in his latter days here.

Also another common denominator in all of these fall outs that avoids mention.

For the record I’ve no idea what happened with Sarcevic, John and Dapo but I suspect this like in most things no one comes out of it smelling of roses. 

Letting Dapo go to St Pauli was a shocker. Creating a system out best player didn’t fit in again seemed bizarre and still looks bizarre.

I know what you mean and without knowing the details we'll never know whether the situations could've been managed better

I know you're not Evatt's biggest fan, but he explained at the time that Dapo wanted away. The lad never contradicted that to my knowledge.

Whether Evatt created the conditions where he felt it was better to go is a different question.

It reminded me of the Nolan situation under Megson. Wasn't at his best and was better to leave at the time. Again, Megson arguably contributed to his form.
