I used to watch them as a kid when Bolton were away to non local opposition that would be early sixties in the Lancashire Combiation playing the likes of Fleetwood Morecambe & Bacup Borough

We used to sneek in via the fence around the training pitch.

I remember a game in the mid sixties when there was a massive crowd on pretty sure it was the pie-eaters & it was a 0-5 defeat.Crowd 3300 official .4k unofficial just checked with my mate owner of tharami book.

Tell you something, 10 years ago I could pretty much name 11 players from every premier league team. Teams like Watford, hull etc I'm struggling beyond 4 or 5. So many transient foreign players

Best thing about this is that the camera was probably dead level. I've seen some very tired legs on Grundy Hill in days gone by, particularly those kicking up hill in the second half.
