I was sent to eastern Germany in 1991 for work. Stayed on a vineyard not too far from Dresden. Used to go to a huge factory each day. Some ace architecture, but by the fuck was it run down in places.

All the people were dressed in similar dull clothing and seemed to walk around with heads bowed. Plenty of Russian conscripts too.

Hardly surprising loads moved west.

Mate of mine, his nephew runs a ticket agency in Dresden, he sold 17,899 return tickets Dresden/Munich; plane, train and coach for the weekend of that fixture - fact.
