SalfordOriginal Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-31299325 When you read this it really does make your think about what a field day Gartside could have with this place if he wanted to! Corruption Theft Adultery That's just for starters. When you say "this place" are you not just referring to one poster? Quote
EyesRight Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 The judge apparently was leaning towards the defence during the first hearing and granted him extra time to sort his defence out. I hope it goes to penalties, that'd be exciting. Quote
COYW Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 My old man was talking to a Blackpool councillor the other night who uses the same legal team as the Oystons. They reckoned it was going to be a open and shut case and simply want to make an example of the defendant. Surely it would have been enough to threaten legal action if the comments weren't withdrawn or if any further libelous comments were posted. Does anyone really take people who post this stuff seriously? Highlighting the comments just gives them an importance they don't really deserve. I'm not really sure what they're hoping to achieve with this. Taking on your own club's supporters is never a good idea. Quote

People do take stuff seriously and you can't just post whatever you want without there being a possible come back. taking on your own fans may be a bad idea but to be fair fans who go out of their way to slate the club are also not good. admitrtedly this is slightly different. I'm not really sure what they're hoping to achieve with this. Taking on your own club's supporters is never a good idea. thing is, from what I can see, the oystons have shown that they can do whatever the fuck they want with regards the running of the club and completely fuck the fans off they've pocketed shed loads of money from the PL days and took the piss out the fans at every opportunity - like when the family posed with tennis rackets before the tennis ball protest (most of this is based on what gonzo has said) but, what they have acheived is they've shown they are running the show and if you don't like it you can fuck off, they've "took on" the supporters and shown without doubt that they doing what they want with the club, to benefit themselves and no one else unless someone kills an oyston off the back of this, i can't see how they could feel that anything they have done would be, to them, a bad idea/move Quote
COYW Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 People do take stuff seriously and you can't just post whatever you want without there being a possible come back. You're just repeating what we already know without really answering the initial question. Quote

COYW Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 what they have acheived is they've shown they are running the show and if you don't like it you can fuck off But if everyone 'fucks off', there is no club. This is the sort of thing that's going to focus attention on the genuine grievances of their fans, even if that isn't actually the point of this legal action. It's all a bit counter productive. Quote
Big E Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 You're just repeating what we already know without really answering the initial question. What's the question? You said do people take this seriously? Some people will do. A good example of people believing shit on the net is the number of fuck reposts on Facebook about bollocks everyday Quote
COYW Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 What's the question? Was it worth taking it to court? Quote
Carlos Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Was it worth taking it to court? Obviously it was to them, as they have done. Quote

It's all a bit counter productive. spose it depends on what you think their end goal is - if it's to bleed the club dry, taking as much as they can out whilst putting back next to fuck all, so as to make as much money as they can, then they are going about it in the right way I would imagine that they will just sell up as and when the times comes they can get no more out of it, as there is bound to be a buyer if there's no debt their behaviour could be considered counter productive if you'd like to think they have the clubs best interests at heart rather than their own, which i don't it's just one big power trip Quote
COYW Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Obviously it was to them, as they have done. It's that sort of insight that you can only find on an internet message board. They're missing out. Quote

gonzo Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 depends how much they are selling for i'm guessing they are debt free so they are better prospect than most clubs outside the PL Think they were the only club in the championship last year that actually made a profit. Totally debt free. The boycott thing is a great idea. Only problem is they offered discounted season tickets for next season if you bought that with this seasons. Daft cunts lapped em up. Quote

gonzo Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 The state of the pitch has been blamed on the first team sqaud training on it every day haha The players kicked off about training at the school as they couldn't get showered and changed there. They had to get in their cars and drive home full of mud. They had to share toilets with the teachers FFS. The training ground at comon edge has been too windy to train and they have no hot water or central heating in the portacabins. Quote
