As we race towards a new year, thoughts for me are beginning to turn towards saving and preparing for Euro 2016 in France. I've already briefly talked to the likes of Bowtun Baked (I'll be pecking your head for the next 18 months!) EyesRight and Radcliffewhite in the past about their plans to go over, for me this will be the first time I've gone to a tournament like this.

 

Already been through the familiar stage of excited drunken discussions with mates who all sound well up for travelling - at one point there were about 10 of us going on a road trip beginning in Amsterdam, travelling through France for the tournament and ending up in the south of Spain. Yeah...

Now, as expected, there's only me still talking about it.

 

So, who's going? What are your plans? Leaving it till the last minute? Still recovering from Le Turnoi/France '98?

 

As it stands I'm looking at doing if not the entire month then up to 3 weeks, travelling around all over France on trains and staying wherever is available, based around whatever tickets I can get hold of. Not that fussed about going anywhere near the England scene, I'm more up for visiting different towns and cities, meeting groups of supporters of other countries - getting to a few games and watching the rest in fan parks but I've no doubt this will change as soon as I get there!

 

24 European teams, high chance the majority of them will bring large followings, only a short flight away. It's going to be lively. 

Doubt I will go but went in 98, don't go to Lille, it's a rough dump. If I do go, it will be a last minute job but I suspect I will be watching it all from the madness of a Las Vegas casino

Well today the outcome of the ticket applications ballot was announced.

 

I'm a bit gutted, I got 1 game out of the 8 I applied for (Though maybe I'm lucky, there were 11.5 million applications). I got a final group game in Nice so even if I scale back my original plans to go for a few weeks, at least Ive got a trip there to plan for.

 

How did everyone else get on?

Applied for 4 tickets in 5 games, didn't get a single ticket.  3 mates that applied all got the same.

I'm on my honeymoon round Europe (Northern Italy, South France, Northern Spain) during the group stage

 

Applied for everything in the south of Framce within those dates and got the first group game in Nice and the last group game in Bordeaux. Having to change our itinerary a bit but should be able to get them both in without missing any major destinations

yes England games,they was marked up but not stupid. In Portugal a group of welsh got tickets for England's group games and they weren't arsed through them some beer money on top happy days.

to right think it was England first game in Lisbon, a company advertised coach from villamoura to Lisbon and match ticket £150 which was a fair price. 4am pick up on the main stretch did it turn up did it fuck!. Lucky we didn't book on but there was some pissed off lads

My son got the QF in Lille.

We managed to get 10 fixtures out of the 16 that we applied for, so pretty chuffed with that. Not sure if we were lucky or if our method paid off, probably a bit of both!

 

We each went in for 3 tickets for each game, all of which were in separate categories in case one was over subscribed. We didn't end up with 9 tickets and ended up with just two sets of doubles.

 

The Winners of Group A in the last 16 at Lyon is the pick of the bunch. That could be France, I have no issues fleecing French people.

 

We're going to be based in Bordeaux for 5 nights and the rest in Lyon, if England come to town then great, if not oh well.

Got tickets for lens on June 11. Didnt get ones for Lille on June 12.

 

A3 v A4 is the lens game. Pretty sure england will be one of the six seeds so thankfully, as far as im concerned, wont be an england game
