RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Lennon's post-match comments: 'It's like amateur hour. Players falling over and panicking. I'm sick of watching it.' Well that might be the case but it's his job to sort it out. We've got a top three home record and a bottom three away record, so if he's going to be praised for one then he has to take responsibility for the other. What disappoints me about his post match interviews is that what started off as 'telling it like it is', now just appears to be passing the buck. He's starting to sound like he's more concerned about his own career. Simon Charlton was on GMR earlier saying that he's heard that Lennon will be off if he isn't backed during the summer. I don't see why a major overhaul is needed if the players are good enough to have a top three home record. There can't be that much wrong with them. Let's have this right..if it wasn't for one MR N Lennon we would most likely be below Wigan right now & this has been a season horriblis ... another disastrous start & more injury problems than I can ever remember in one season, so let's all be grateful we are safe & cut the bloke some deserved slack. We've had injury problems since Holden went down. We can't keep making excuses. I like Lennon but the Mr angry routine has worn thin on me. He can't keep slamming players. It's ok if you are a moneybags club but his talk of an overhaul in the summer won't materialise and if it does he won't have the sort of money to bring in real quality, If you'd told me today that Freedman was in charge still I'd have believed you. Same at Forest. We were absolutely wank, and today not even good enough to hold out for a stuffy win. Wigan are terrible, bottom 3 and they were miles and miles better than we were in all departments today. A real eye opener for me seeing how several players were barely arsed. And also seeing how tactically poor our management team were. Vela should have started today and should Craig Davies, it was a game for a battle, not one for Rochina or Le Fondre. Lennon said post match that he changed the system early on in the second half as Wigan were getting a bit on top. Perhaps if he'd stuck to a four at the back from the start it might have been better, three at the back with 2 wingers as wing backs is just stupid away from home. We got a point, but anyone who genuinely has real belief that next season will be better is either on something really good or is just kidding themselves. I like Lennon but he keeps fiddling with this team around the edges and messing with the system unnecessarily. If he can't get performances out of these lot, how will he manage on an even cheaper squad next season? Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Which players? The ones who had us in the mire? The injured one's? The loanees or the young ones the have been given a chance? Quote

Remains to be seen but if yo.u would pick Craig Davies in front of Le Fondre for any game then you are seriously deluded Quote
COYW Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Which players? The ones who had us in the mire? The injured one's? The loanees or the young ones the have been given a chance? All of the above. They've all contributed to the turnaround. When the manager comes out with comments like, 'If they can't learn, they're not for me', presumably he's aware that there won't be limitless funds to replace them? If you hadn't seen the highlights of the Ipswich game or read Mick McCarthy's comments, you might have been forgiven for thinking we were shite, given what Lennon had to say after that game. The reality was, we were unlucky. Not every game deserves the same response. Quote
Guest Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Remains to be seen but if yo.u would pick Craig Davies in front of Le Fondre for any game then you are seriously deluded We were better with Heskey and Davies up front than we were when Le Fondre was on. No point having a goalscorer in a game where you create no chances. Our last away win came with Heskey and CD upfront. Because we are trying to play football away from home and aren't good enough. It is very simple why we are losing away, because we are leaving the midfield empty trying to play nice football through the middle. Get two big strikers on a solid back four and a grafting midfield and get the ball forward. It isn't rocket science but unless we have extra quality it is the only way we will get points away from home. Quote
Casino Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 What utter cock. Has Charlton not heard of FFP? We will be backing a manager as much as we can. I know some folk like to thrive off the conspiracy theory but Lennon will be backed as far as the club can do. indeed lennon will be shopping in the same market as freedman low cost cast offs Quote
RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 He's more than aware I would imagine but will back himself to bring in players of the likes of Mccarthy who whilst not being world beaters have a hard edge to them as did Big Sam to get us out of this league. Quote

Guest Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Only problem I can see with that is 2 strikers who can't score goals but do carry on.... Yes but they can hold it up and give us outlets. As I say our last away win was with them upfront. At home it is different. But away we need to go back to basics. Quote
COYW Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Everything wrong about their character? Or maybe there's not that much wrong that one or two additions won't put right. He's probably going to be working with most of these players next season, so constantly criticising them seems to be counterproductive. Quote
Casino Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 see, i really dont want to agree with you, but it does all seem a little familiar Quote

But away we need to go back to basics. I disagree, in the long term we need to evolve, with Heskey & C Davies we will not improve but with the likes of Clough, Le Fondre & Rochinha we just might. It won't happen overnight but it needs perseverance & patience. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) We would have been relegated with virtually any other manager than NL, he and his team have done an unbelievable job. It's time to for the club to back him financially as much as is possible bearing in mind FFP, failure to do so and the consequences I don't want to even contemplate. Casino Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 i'm not up top calculating it, but whats our ppg under lennon i'd guess its nothing special btw, im happy with him and think hes as good as we'll get but thats based on his first three months and faith more than owt else today, we were second best against a bag of shit Quote

ex_midlandwhite Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 We won't be going down but agree we'd be in big trouble if we did as we haven't the fan base of a Wolves, Forest, Norwich or Southampton to bounce quickly back. On today, feel really flat about how poor we were and we went to get a draw against a poor team. Norwich at home is a big game for me. Think we need to beat at least one decent team this season to give some belief we can push on. Quote

For me the only thing Lennon could've possibly done better was Vela in at full back. Edited March 21, 2015 by Mounts Kipper Quote
