If we'd sold a mere 5000 or so season tickets, we'd be in a position to turn this down.

Garty has just arrived at the Macron in a new Rolls Royce Phantom lighting cigars with 50 pound notes.

Gartside will obviously pocket most of it.

Or maybe some will go towards paying debts?

What do you think?

I think it will all go towards strengthening the squad, as that's what Lennon said in todays press conference.

the problem is, that spend on wages isnt exciting, is it

so the retards who cant grasp simple finance rant their cocks off

if we've sold for 1.4

and if he was on 10k a week

the deal is worth 2.5 million quid

half a years income

Even though many don't financially support the club, better off if they just fucked off and support one of the so called big clubs.

Good. I hope he gets to spend it all on new players.

I haven't heard the full press conference but the bit I saw Lennon says the deal frees up a wage that will go towards a couple new players. Is there more where he mentions spending the £1.4 million or whatever the fee is going to be on new players?

I personally think BWFC will be laughing all the way to the bank getting 1.4 million for an average player well done to the club, we normally get a good shafting on transfers but the tide has turned, the shafted have become the shafters

Nob. :) Done more matches than youve had hot dinner ...... may be not :)

:D

i hope you are not implying you haven't been to many matches there

Even though many don't financially support the club, better off if they just fucked off and support one of the massive clubs like Liverpool

I don't think we have the financial power to be shafters. Nice that we seem to be on a reasonable end of a deal, for a change.

The down side to this deal is it's going to lead me to wanting QPR to be promoted so we get more money off them.

I'm not fussed if Lennon can use the money to cover Reams loss and sign a goal scorer, whether selling someone for 1.4 million after paying 2.5 million is shafting other clubs I'd have to disagree.

yep, another 1.1m loss to add to the debt :shiftyninja:

i think we wrote all our players down to half of nowt

Talk sport mentioned Hooper to us this morning

Anyone seen any other links to this?

He'd be great up top with Madine

talkshite are marginally more clued up than the pillocks commenting on the BEN site

i think the hooper link is coming from nixons twitter and/or the sun

Think your right, that's a profit on the balance sheet then.????

I'd be very very suprised if we got anywhere near doing any sort of deal for but I'll live in hope.

By means of getting more than top dollar for average footballer is shafting the other club IMO. Never in a million years is he worth anywhere near 1.4 million but that is only my opinion so as far as i'm concerned we've shafted whoever is prepared to pay that for him. We got well and truely shafted paying 2.5 million for him so only losing 1.1 million on the deal looks good from where i'm sitting

I'd be surprised if we managed to sign Hooper on loan, he's on huge wages apparently, 30K plus per week, even if Norwich contributed half of his wages this would be far too much for us.

I'd imagine someone like Anthony Stokes would be a more realistic target, he's well down the pecking order at Celtic, but not sure if he is prolific enough.

As a centre half, Ream looked like he could be a decent full back & as a full back, he looked like he could be a decent midfield player.

I've no complaints with the effort that Ream put in for us, he just wasn't that good, & I wish him well, but any club in our financial position would be barmy to turn down £1m+, plus add ons, plus the big wage savings for someone who is effectively a reserve player now.

If Lennon can use the money to bring in a striker, it'll look like even better business.

Ream out / Hooper in would be a massive win

Stokes is absolutely shite.
