I've got faith in Lennon unearthing some decent players on low budget wages we just need some players out of the club to free up some wages, easier said than done though as we seem to have over paid every player currently contracted to the club.

Admire your loyalty to the cause but it's misguided the teams who are going to trouble the top have done much more business than us, we're a million miles off being close and I can't see any reason we will get close to being a force. That's the way it is and we will just have to accept that, that's not me being negative it's just the facts.

Did you think Brentford or Ipswich were going to be a force last year?

 

Spending £5m on an ageing Downing isn't a good signing IMO, £14m on Rhodes is all well and good and he will score goals but they've got to replace Bamfords goals.

 

I personally think we're 2 signings away from a solid team (striker and right back), not much depth but that's where we need to get lucky with injuries, we don't have the cash for 2 good players in each position any more.

Bamford is different gravy to Rhodes and his tap-ins. Any owner other than the Venkys would have driven him up there as fast as they possibly could.

Some good points here. If fit, we have a team as good if not better than the one that looked impressive for a time under Lennon. Before the injuries hit. As above, we have little depth and if we don't have the luck Burnley had a couple of years ago on that front, things will definitely get sticky from time to time.

It's going to be shit. As far as I'm concerned the speculation can carry on forever if it keeps the actual football away.

After their previous season,who,d have thought Brighton would be nearly relegated last season,we,ve had 3 shit seasons with a squad of decent (on paper) players! Let's have a bit of optimism for this season and dream of troubling the top with our not so great squad!

Think our transfer strategy was misguided under the last two managers.

 

To state the obvious, we spent far too much on experienced mega bucks wages and not enough on buy to improve players.

 

How many have we bought from lower leagues or Premier League cast offs.?

 

When the likes of Burnley were buying Crainey and Ings, or Hull Chesters?
