Are we playing three at the back because we have no right back? I'm not sure Lennon wants to play it but does he have a 4-4-2 currently?

I'm quite comfortable with our prospects for this season but if we play 352 I reckon we go down

I think your right about 3-5-2 I'm not sure how anyone's happy about our prospects the clubs being run virtually into the ground and there's no ambition in the club and I know Eddies thrown the towel in so not blaming him but it's fucking shite state of affairs.

Certainly the impression I get is that Lennon is far from happy. I wonder what he was told when interviewing for it?

Your impression is exactly that, nobody knows what he got told but I'm pretty sure it wasn't along the lines of "come to us, we're loaded".

How the fuck has talk of potential formations for next year turned back into the same old shit about finance and how Lennon is feeling? It's fucking boring, every thread goes the same way!

Indeed. I'm also unclear as to why folk are worrying about a right-back. We have Threkeld and White. Neither are ideal, but both will do for a mid-table championship side.

If he can free up any further cash, I'd rather see it spent on a striker than a reserve keeper or a second-rate right back who's difference to the team won't be massively more than what we have.

I'm pretty sure we haven't been playing 3-5-2 at all this summer, it's been Moxey and Twardzik at LB and White and Maher at RB.

I know Josh Vela is preferred in midfield both from his point of view and Lennon.

But he was one of our better players during his time at RB.

He's had the bad aids during pre season so not sure how he'll fit in this year.

I don't know why Lennon seems to think Twardzick is capable of playing left back? Celtic fans seem to think he's no good at left back and he's more of a creative midfielder. I don't rate Moxey, prefer Ream at left back if we're stuck.

The team this year pretty much picks it's self with how short we are with options, we had the Lawrie Wilson or something in on trial last week might play tomorrow night and seems likeliest for RB position.

Amos; Wilson, Wheater, Osede, Ream; Pratley, Vela; 3 of Mavies, Clough, Clayton, Feeney, Kellet; Madine.

It's not great and we lack some depth but it's certainly not making me want to jump off any bridges, we'll do alright.

Didn't Lennon play 3-5-2 at Celtic? Sure I have seen an interview with him where he has said its his preferred position

"Your salary will be £250,000"

"OK, I'll take it"

Out of interest, how close are you to Lennon to make that assumption?

Played 4231 at Morecambe, I imagine this is what we will go with.

A Dougie formation that.

White and Threlkeld are both shite. So no they won't do.

I don't think I've ever seen either of them play.

Threlkeld is alright, he'll make a decent player for us eventually but he's not ready yet and could be a liability if played regularly.

Happy with 4-2-3-1 provided it doesn't have 2 very similar players in the 2 (Vela and Pratley would be a good combination) A 3 consisting of a selection from Clough, Davies, Walker, Clayton, Feeney and Kellet isn't the worst of squad choices. Probably need nore than Madine as an option for the 1. That just leaves the defence, Ream and Wheater is a good start, though Wheater staying fit could be an issue. Can't comment on Osede, Dervite I guess is a decent back up but then we are down to trusting youth. Might need to score a few goals to win games.

White is a shocker might be best put him centre midfield he'd probably kill one or 2 of the opposition every season with his kamikaze tackling style.

White and Threlkeld are both shite. So no they won't do.

Hunt was shite and we played with him for years, at a higher level. So yes, they will do.

And let's face it, Pratley was shite a couple of years back. Now we're all rejoicing because he's signed again. Give one of then an extended run, it'll be the making of them. At the very least it won't be the difference between survival and relegation.

Out of interest, how close are you to Lennon to make that assumption?

notice how these questions never get answered...

This.

I'd also consider Maher at RB, looks a decent player and got some experience at Blackpool last season.

Osede didn't look great at Morecambe and might look better in midfield IMO. His passing is fantastic (apart from to Amos) but he kept trying to win the ball from a forward when it wasn't on. He'll get turned against bigger, more intelligent forwards.

I can't see Threlkeld making it at this level. Not convinced on White from what I've seen, seems to have the build of a centre half. No idea if he's capable of playing there mind. Always thought Hunt was underrated to be honest; sure his career tailed off but he was first choice for our four seasons in the top eight so I don't think he was that bad considering.

Only saw the highlights but defensively I'd be worried about osede, would also prefer him playing a campo type role based on the bit I saw.

He's got the hair for it, so why not?
