There's no better time with the league play offs in full swing both here and down under and the union world cup about to bore the piss out of everybody for the next month or so as Tarquin and Oscar shoe it to each other for every one of the 14 minutes of the 80 that the ball is in play. How come the little lads get to call a mark when they catch it? Is it to stop the bigger boys from getting near them? It's for gays isn't it.

 

I might run a book on the number of teams who end up with scores which can be divided by three.

I don't mind watching either code, I'm not stubborn enough to think you can only enjoy one of them

 

The thing these threads do always do though is make RL fans look a bit bitter that even they have the "superior" code only about 300 people in the word actually like it, as was shown when the RL World Cup was here in the UK a few years ago. Apparently the RU world cup is the "3rd largest sporting event" in the world....fuck knows how they measure that, presumably just by viewing figures.

 

I'm not sure I often see RU fans having a swipe at RL...........but almost every RL fan feels the need to slag off RU at every occassion.

Ok then. Here's a thought. If we are going to slag a code off, or fish for bites. Then lets say something that has not been said a million times before. In a million other WW threads where the subject has been approached. Off you go Mags.

If you are referring to myself, for balance I hate both codes. But league is more watchable than union by someone who admittedly knows litle about either

Domestic RL games have higher attendances and TV figures than RU.

Can't see that myself. Surely its:

 

1. Football World Cup.

2. Summer Olympics.

3. Euro Championships.

4. Winter Olympics.

 

As for my own interest, I'm in the Kent camp. 6 weeks is too long for any comp.
