I thought the only reason for them moving was that they wanted a bigger site to bring the academy and first team into 1 big complex? As we know that's not possible, we've had to develop lostock

With regards to planning at charnock, I don't think they'll get it anytime soon. The Camelot development a few hundred yards away has been plagued with planning issues.

Either way I'm just not sure Iles is barking up the right tree with that one

I'd think more chance of planning application being successful on the golf course than over the other side which is more green belt.

Wife reckons its hard to predict off any other examples as the rules are so complex.

Camelot was rejected as it was too big for the amenities in the area

Charnock golf club is a few hundred yards away and probably twice the size

A swathe of land that big would be a good location for a theme park, I reckon.

I'm happy loans paid off but what's next for them to sell off to cover their inefficiencies?

Haha! Kinell!!

I think the point is that we aren't having to sell it for the tax bill, but to get rid of the highest interest debt, so possibly good news. Clearing our own shit rather than administration doing it for us.

maybe the loan was a stumbling block for any potential buyer?

Think the big issue is the reported 1million shortfall every month to cover the running cost of the club. There is no easy fix for this problem.

Would loan repayments not be part of the £1m per month?

Would Mark Davies' £110,000 a month salary be part of that?

Looks to me like an effort at cutting overheads is being made.

Selling off the offices is good

As would be the hotel

It means it's a fucking big job trying to flatten the ground for more shops if you have to buy from 3 parties

It should keep some of the vultures away and the stadium will remain a stadium even if we own it or not

Agreed were trying to reduce overheads but it's being done with the pressure of administration looming folk know that and does not put us in a strong bargaining position, this leads me to ask are we getting true value for selling our assets? Be that players or offices my view is that it is very doubtful we are. The offices were obviously bringing in steady regular income that's gone forever and that reduces our already low income stream going forward, let's see what goes next and if we continue to under sell all our assets.

Who'd have thought that a potential asset stripper would be interested in an asset rich, cash poor business?

And people are still questioning why it hasn't been sold!

Wages.. Employees national insurance contribution.. Insurance ( do teams insure players on an individual basis). Reckon it adds up. Probably get top 7 wages off and that deficit soon dissappers

I reckon the average wage of our top 7 earners must be close to £15k a week, possibly slightly higher but call it £15k.

Including NI contributions that's £6m a year, plus your insurance and any other related expenses maybe £7m!!

Get them off the wage bill and we'll be in a lot better position... You could argue we wouldn't even miss probably 5 of them.
