Thanks Sky for totally ruining football for all but top few clubs.

recon ED would let you have if for nout if you can run it without going in to Addmin

£12m a year to keep it going

so £45m would give you 4 years

+ any income in that time would get you Another 2/3 years

if you get in Prem you could pay yourself back in the first year

The £12M per year is what we are currently losing, so already includes any income that is already being gained.

I reckon that your £45M would last you 2 or 3 years, and that would be without spending any money on transfers.

Thanks Sky for totally ruining football for all but top few clubs.

Was it all a level playing field before sky then?

The wage cap fucked it up not sky.

The wage cap abolition meant the playing field was sloping. It is now almost a cliff face.

It was certainly more level without Sky money than with.

The problem is sky only give a toss about the top 6 or 7 clubs cause they get the punters watching, if they didnt have to show the other clubs they wouldnt, when i used to watch Bolton in the old second division the gap between second & first wasent that big and you only really had two programmes showing footy and they both showed games from all 4 divisions, the gap between the leagues now are massive, no one supporting a premier league club gives a fuck about anything below the premiership, fuck sky

Not sure why the blame for sky for our predicament. Although i hate what modern football has become and they started that ball roling.

Everyone knows what they are getting involved in and you choose to live within or beyond your means.

Our situation is all down to piss poor ownership and financial bad management.

There's a lot contributing factors to the modern game than sky.

Taylor report/all seater stadiums for a start.

There a four extremely healthy divisions this country with decent supports at every ground. No other country in Europe can boast of that.

The money was always going to come from somewhere as the game got popular again after hooligan era. Sky didnt create this they just paid for it.

I don't honestly think the divide is that massive. Palace,Soton and Watford were all fucked 5 years ago and Bournmouth were in the bottom division and Swansea not far behind em.

And the "champions" "league"

Average attendance in top 4 tiers:

England 16,401

Germany 17,594

The German attendances are about 7k up on English in top tier, 1500 up in second, 100 down in third and 3500 down in fourth.

I suppose you could argue that the fourth tier in Germany makes your assertion valid, even if it is based on supposition.

Plus there's about 17 million more people to go at.

I've just rung them to say I'm cancelling my sports package. He says, why madam, I says, I'm a Bolton fan and it's just all too depressing to see the premier league these days. He laughs says, would free for 6 months help with the pain.

Thanks Dan, top man :)

Absolutely this

Why should football be any different to any other industry?

Anyway, found out today that the reason why the Holdsworth consortium didn't get the go ahead, was because the club were concerned that their funding was being funded via money laundering, no surprise really!

Sure you heard that right? Not money from a laundry?

The Greek bid was laundry money too, Mr Popadopolous from Eastenders.

Hahaha

If that were true Holdsworth & Co would be getting quizzed in a Police Station now.

There are laws about these sort of things!

Sure I read most of the PL are running at a profit these days, not to say they aren't in debt but they're doing alright

SKY have got fuck all to do with the open cheque book coyle and Freedman had in trying to keep us in then get back in the PL
