Just had a meeting on Churchgate. Sad to see the Bolton News offices empty. And in a week or two the Travel Counsellors building opposite will be empty. Another 200+ people spending approx £20 per week on parking and lunches in the town... plus whatever other services they spend their hard-earned on - all being lost. Very sad state of affairs.

 

When will it get better? Should these empty offices be turned into apartments?

In my old agency we worked alongside a film agency to our live arts one and Bolton was a big thing for new and emerging film. It's more of an industry thing rather than rock up and watch but you can - but I'd say its more like a conference.

dunno, maybe, but it seems to have appeared at the same time as the festival so be surprised if they arent linked

that said it's appeared at the same time as the union jacks/st georges cross on de Havilland way, so could just be a case of local pride

Quick Google seems its done under the We Are Bolton brand (the logo of the coloured ribbons are the same branding) so its done to be seen around the time of the festival rather than it being part of festival out of home. Its on but its mainly to highlight the filming, production and stars that come from and are done in the town.

I mentioned it earlier, I'm working on a project for this stuff. It's incredible. Don't do bad things kids, they'll get you eventually.

Used to deliberately go in the local in jeans and trainers so no one could persuade me go to town later when I was working Saturday mornings , then walk home pissed and get changed again to go in town 😆
