Town Centre Latest

Just had a meeting on Churchgate. Sad to see the Bolton News offices empty. And in a week or two the Travel Counsellors building opposite will be empty. Another 200+ people spending approx £20 per week on parking and lunches in the town... plus whatever other services they spend their hard-earned on - all being lost. Very sad state of affairs.

When will it get better? Should these empty offices be turned into apartments?

Down to the employer to pay more. If an employer is going to pay more in Their home country/town then they’re obviously going to go there.

Not sure what your point is but worker here gets on average 3 times more than Poland for same job.

Did you not do statistics at school?

If 10 people each earn £10,000 and 1 earns £1,000,000, the 'average' wage is £100,000....

What’s the average mortgage in Poland? What about the average weekly Sainsburyski shop? What about an average reach around in the backstreets of Wrocław? You can’t take wages in isolation versus cost of living.

I had 2 kids in nursery and it cost me over £2k a month (after tax). You reckon folks in Warsaw are paying the same?

It’s a good question. I had a good childhood friend who was Asian but not Muslim. Used to support the whites, drink like a fish, usual lad stuff. So maybe it’s religion that I have a problem with. I still stand by the ghetto slums they create. I’ve even spoke in depth about it with Asian Muslim lads. And you know what they didn’t disagree. Some said their families are from shit holes back in Pakistan and it’s all they know.

Why you posted what you posted, as it had no relevance to the fact wages in UK are far higher than Poland.

'Average' wages...

So why did the Polish workers go back to Poland?

Wages would probably not be higher in Poland, but maybe overall cost of living versus take home wage, made it more favourable for them to return.

Brexit did have an impact, well never really know by how much though.

We should have enough of our "own" people to fill most vacancies, it's just they won't.

Hi Polish tennant bossman... I need to put your rent up.

Hi English landlord man.... I cant afford it.

Ok bye

700k poles born in Poland are still resident in UK suggests living standards in general here are better than Poland.

Are you suggesting it’s not as simple as the ww solution. How stupid.

To be fair, I think everybody is pretty aware of the above. Although, I appreciate that some may struggle to grasp the whole concept of "cost of living" and assume everything should just be based on how much somebody earns each week
