He didn’t announce he was running till the end of 2022 and the polls were pretty close early on. What’s the obvious potential improvement?

Having a president in place who has committed to ending the war quickly. A President who had previously been a lot closer to him than Biden who was committed to ongoing financial support.

For the last time, why would Putin enter into talks if he had a realistic chance of Trump taking over ?  

Sadly this was all orchestrated by Trump and Vance prior to Zelensky even getting there.  Trump started it and Vance picked up the que and went right in for the attack.

Because his rag tag army are on their arse. He’s gained some land so now would be a good time to negotiate ownership. As London wanderer, the WW foreign wars correspondent said, any European leader could have had talks with Putin. It Looks like nobody really wanted to get around a table .

I thought you served in the British Army, wouldn't the idea that an invading force on a peaceful sovereign European nation would feel like something that you signed up for? To defend those that can't, against those who seek to subjugate them? Otherwise what's the point of being in the forces? To defend your country, and those countries who can't.

A good friend of mine was an ex marine and was a business partner for a good few and both my brothers were RAF and all were fucking nuts but maybe for different reasons.

As I said before, any sane person knows this war now ends with Russia getting some of Ukraine. How much they get is down to the talks. I’m not saying I agree with it but I’m just being a realist.

Interesting take on Sky News earlier. Trump's never forgiven Zelenskyy for not providing evidence (there wasn't any) about Hunter Biden's financial interests over there, despite being given millions of dollars.

Again nothing I have said in there. You are achieving a level of consistency. 
 

Putin will get a better deal whilst Trump is President……. Yes or No ? 
 

My logic is that if the Ukraines biggest supporter pulls out then their position is weakened.

You're wrong on this, you think you're  realistic, I say you're naive.

We - and no one - knows how this will pan out. But to just give land to Russia, long term will not end well.

To be a realist, you need to know more about where we've come from in Europe. And, whilst I might be wrong, your posts don't strike me as someone who is massively knowledgeable on this.

Maybe a deal with Europe and America could have been achieved if talks happened? You keep asking if a deal would have been better for Russian under Biden or Trump. Totally excluding Europe. (As Trump did)

Even Trumps and Russias biggest haters have come out and said that’s the only thing that will bring an end to the war. If you think that Russia will now give up their gains to a force which is likely to be lacking American funding (if things continue as they are) then you’re the one being Naive. 
 

Sometimes being sensible over knowledgable helps.
