Thanks for banging on about it. We're all eternally grateful for your insight

  • I like how they have voted Chris Powell as their first choice.   Not many clubs can say they have had two black managers in a row.

Could Wilder be back on the agenda seeing as charlton deal seems to be off and might have burnt bridges at the cobblers. If we could get him on board id see that's as a bit of a coup.

I'd have had him in from the start. It's whether we've got the money to pay their compo. That's how small fry we've become.

A lot is resting on how much we get for holding and what the owner decides to do with that money it's gut wrenching where we are from where we were.

As he has already turned us down, and seemingly nothing has changed since, I would hazard a guess at no.

FWIW he would be my choice if I had one.

He's not going charlton can't see him now going back to Northampton and if the holding money comes in and we get embargo lifted you never know. I know it's a lot of ifs buts and maybes but fingers crossed.

Problem is there's lots of other clubs after managers who would be ahead of us in the queue.

He must be quite in demand at the moment, hence why it looks like he can name his own terms and in no rush to take any jobs that won't meet them

Id love it if we could pull it off. Such is the way of things, Im not holding my breath. I just wish we would appoint somebody, so at least we know work is being done to prepare some sort of squad for next year.

Think Sheffield United are in for him which is his hometown club. We could always go for Adkins.

We could always go for Adkins.

....that could be a plan.

If we don't hear anything this week then I'll be worried.

The season is over, anyone in football who isn't involved in the play-offs is away on holiday. I'll be worrying if we make it to the end of July.

We're still a plum job

By that date we'd have been back in pre-season 3 weeks we need someone in before June is upon us at the very very latest we have 2-3 weeks to make an appointment.

Agreed we have to have a manager in place in the next few weeks otherwise we don't stand a chance of coming back up.

Agree. I think it will get even worse.

My concern is, from memory teams relegated from the championship with as few points or as big a margin as we were tend to relegate again the following season, Rotherham, Yeovil, Blackpool to name recent cases. Lots of work to be done.

There's some drama queens on here

Seasons not even finished and it's already a panic

We're still a plum job

Agree with that.

It's not like we've been languishing in the third tier for the last 20 years is it?

Quite what the panic is, fuck knows.

We can wait a couple of months for the right mon

Really a couple of months? Are we writing next season off now.

Do you know the date Rioch was appointed?

No what was it?

Do you know the date Rioch was appointed?

Wiki says May

A Bolton News article from June 1st 2012 says twenty years ago he was appointed.

So around end of May?

I just don't get the sheer panic.

The summer merry go round hasn't even been cranked up yet.

I can see it both ways, it's silly to panic but on the other hand we need someone in to start building, and getting a grip on next year, the longer he has to do it the better,
