Only had three, Manchester Ship Canal in 64, Chatsworth House in 65, and a freezing cold army camp in Kinmel Bay in the middle of winter 68.

  • You're right, we can trump (pardon the pun) NY at most things.   They have The Bronx. We have Top O'th Brow.   They have Central Park. We have Bobby Legs Park.   They have Studio 54. We have Woo

Hammarbank in the Lake District. Got spotted kissing a girl from another school trip in the corridor.

Middle of the night, two male teachers (one from each of the two schools) come into the dorm and wake every fucker up by switching on all the lights and then lifting me out of bed, half asleep, laying me down on my front and thrashing the fuck out of me with two slippers.

Can you imagine the furore this would generate now? Suppose some kids could have been mentally scarred for life but it didn't affect me paprika somnambulist redolent ole biscuit barrel  crazy.gif

We had all the museums, theme parks, and a coach trip to France, if we behaved... My eldest is of to New York with her Business Studies class ????

And complains that Drama are going to LA

Yes, Chatsworth and the Blue John Mines

And Ingleton, I think, where the limestone paving is. I'd like to go again.

I can't imagine my parents giving up food off the table to fund New York, mind.

Lake district, stapley water gardens, eden camp, some farm in Warrington and then an Art trip to London.

School this year are going New York (business) London (Law) France (History/Geog)..alongside Skiiing (PE).. There is pretty much a trip out every week.

Seriously, it's a piss take. Kids going to NY, what the actual fuck? What do they have left to aspire to? Business? We do business in the UK. I've heard of them going there for Art, we also have art.

They have Studio 54. We have Wood St. Social Club.

Game, set and match I believe.

Wigan Pier, Blackpool Illuminations, Austria skiing x 2, the odd show here and there.

Not too bad. Apart from Wigan. And Blackpool.

Blue John mines and the Isle of white at primary school.

Camping in the lakes at Borrowdale + Andalo in Italy skiing with secondary school.

The cold nights in  the Lakes and the Alps were helped with the nightly company of a couple of school darlings.

Happy days indeed.

We had the usual lightwater valley, Camelot etc but the one I went on, I wish I hadn't. We went playing football over in Germany and I missed a certain match against Bristol City in 1986. I was convinced I was never going to get to the twin towers watching BWFC

But you were the teacher

But you were the teacher

We went on a week's skiing holiday to Innsbruck with School circa 1994. Somehow it ended up with about 20 of us abseiling down from our first floor window after lights out and somehow finding a really shit club which would a) let a group of teenage foreigners in and B) serve then drinks. I have no idea how we found it - come to think of it maybe someone went out on their own first as I seem to remember us knowing where we were headed. There was nobody else in there - but that's probably because it was about half ten on a Wednesday. I also remember they served small single measure bottles of spirits which had a sticker on the front which you could peel off to reveal porn. We managed a couple of hours in there before we got caught. Again, oddly I don't seem to remember getting in THAT much trouble over it, and the story never made it back to our parents (perhaps wisely on the part of the teaching staff).

It sounds so bizarre reading this back now that I feel like I might have dreamt it - but the woman who is my Mrs was as well.

That was the same holiday that a stoned pupil bounced over to a respectable looking elderdly Austrian couple, resplendent in their traditional gear and shouted 'we are club kinetik and we are number one' in their bemused and startled faces!

Camelot, Martin Mere, Manchester Science museum, Isle of Arron and Prague with Business Studies (Jolly)

Visited the sewage works at Blackrod. We had to walk back because the coach broke down.

Primary school day trips to Windermere and Tower of London. Special trains for each.

Actually thinking back some kids were picked to go to the wildlife reserve in Kenya we raised money for.

I wasn't well behaved enough to get picked.

I can only remember going on a Geography Field Trip to Skipton/Bolton Abbey

Snows heights in the lakes. Fell off a rope swing thing and cracked a rib on the same day Bolton played Arsenal on last game of season when we were already down.

Went to London on the Monday after we beat wolves 3-0 at burnden. Copped with Vicky Mesbah on the coach on the way home as we shared an ear piece each of her Walkman listening to the ash album 1977.

She taped me copy and gave it me the next day at school. Every time I hear girl from Mars i think of her.

She escorted me and about 80 others to Blackburn train station about ten years later after she became a rozzer :)

Love that album

Burnam-on-sea, including Cheddar Gorge and Wooky Hole caverns from primary school.

Weekend every year in an old army hut in Disley and annual 2 weeks camping in Grasmere every summer from secondary school.

Highlight was running amok in Paris for 3 weeks, joint trip with the Girl's High School.

i was banned from school trips, fucking cunts
