Usual Blackpool Circus, Chester Zoo, Wigan Pier classroom etc at primary school.

Never did the skiing trips at high school, never fancied it. Had an English trip to Coniston to see Wordsworth's birthplace. Drystone wall demolished and sheep let loose all over the shop. Never let kids from Leigh loose in nice villages.

Alton Towers. Half a dozen of us ended up scrapping with a load of Scousers in the queue for Nemesis.

A week in Anglesey. Copped off but that was about it. In a similar vein to Gonzo (a worrying precedent), it was after sharing headphones but listening to Feeder.

A week on the Isle of Man as a 10 year old.

'Howstrake Holiday Camp'

I think it was used as a camp during WW2 and was never really updated since then

Went skiing. Stopped breathing and got an injection off a gay doctor in Italy. I did a really dry phlegm the day after and kept it by my bedside to show everyone. It was also decided I'd go swimming with hairy women instead of sledging. All in all it was a 1/5

We went Isle of Wight with primary in our last year. That was shit.

Went to France for about 2 hours in our first year of secondary, we visited a hypermarket and that was about it. Fags and booze run for the teachers!

Had a couple of geography field trips that were alright l to Longridge fell and one to Anglesey, went swimming in the sea in October.

Fucking New York! Don't know they're born.

Not quite as you might imagine.

Wiki:

"During the Second World War the camp was used as a music school by the Royal Naval School of Music before returning to holiday use upon cessation of the hostilities. Latterly it was a seasonal affair and after a fire ripped through the main dining hall in 1985 it closed."

Skiing in Bulgaria (flew into Plovdiv)

The odd field trip here and there that I can't remember.

Skiing was great. Bulgaria in the late 80s, you got about 5m plovdiv's to the pound. I think I returned home with about 4.9m. If the banks were giving you 5 to a pound, the hotel staff were giving you 20-30 to a pound. Max Beesley was on the trip (his school were there as well as ours). He ended up hanging about with us more than the dullards from his music school.

Game, set and match I believe.

Some of us were born in the bronx :-D. The local primary used to take us on a weekend to Weardale, in the peak district. I looked for it recently on t'internet and it said it was a place for underprivileged kids to do activities. I don't remember being that much of a peasant!

Surprising how a skoo trip from years ago gets your memory going, a mate got some Blue John stone from the exhibition and got a smack off our perish priest with his rolled up paper on the side of his head. Never heard a priest called a fucking cunt before at 11 year old.

A two week holiday, canoeing down the Loire Valley then sailing on the Med.

Slightly less glamorous was our geography field trip to Skipton. I ended up working there a few years later.

Injection off a gay doctor hey?!

Too scared to go on PGL so my first school away weekend was to some borstal type place in Anglesey with our year.

We beat Charlton 2-1 away. Sneekes scored, his mint daughter (now supermodel) was away with us, she got mobbed. I asked her out. The fact she didn't directly say no means we're technically still going out.

Also went to Eagle's Nest in France with Geography. Top trip, listened to Shearer scoring against Germany in Euro 2000 on the ferry over on the radio, wonderful scenes.

Did Miss Heywood wank you off...

I think these school group trips are buy 19 get the 20th free so, yes, of course the teachers are going to extol the virtues of a week in New York or California if their darling kids' parents are footing 11/19 per child.

Borneo trip a few years back ..

3 weeks for the kids...

not in my day

On one trip to the Lakes we went on a stream train and as the train travelled through a tunnel the carriage was plunged into darkness. Like a scene from an Agatha Christie novel there was a piercing scream but it was not a murder but a girl having a buster groped.

Shouldn't sexual assault be in the 'things that were great in the 80's' thread? :-)

I may start an "Unsolved Crimes of the 80's" thread as well. The groper was never identified but I have my suspicions.

Some place in Kendal. Blue john mines.

Glen Coe.

Springfield nuclear fuels.

Two weeks in France with a "pen friend". Unfortunately, the cunt had to come here.

Best trip we had was to Germany and Poland with History. Visited Berlin, Autchwitz (haunting place, some people wouldnt even go inside) and Krakow. Spent the day in Krakow with a few of the older lads who could get booze and ended up pretty hammered. We bumped into one of the male teachers who was also hammered, so he didn't grass us in!

Other ones I can remember was to the Millenium Dome, Alton Towers, Camelot, Eureka, Science & Industry museum in Manc, Catalyst museum in Widnes, a week long residential at Bangor uni (a friend opened their cupboard door and saw "YOU WILL ALL DIE THIS WEEK" written inside.. no-one slept for a week!), and a week long stay at Robin Wood adventure park where we had to do midnight obstacle courses, swim in fucking icy rivers (it was november) and build rafts.

I'm sure there were others but those were the main ones.

MR58s Fingering school

Went on loads. Geography field trip weekend to Longsleddale in the lakes was ace.

What about child abuse in the 60's matey!

I shagged my missus for the first time on a school trip, theatre jobby in London.

Same night Jarvis Cocker got his arse out on stage.

We saw Miss Saigon and Starlight Express... I think!

Oh, and we went to school together btw, before anyone asks ????
