I think they really are knackered now - luckily for them, most Labour supporters would vote for a pig if it wore a red rosette, so they probably won't fair any worse in the next general election than they did in the last.

 

If the Conservatives have anything about them, they'll be calling a General Election as soon as they have a new man (or indeed, woman) in place 

No - but then I didn't expect the Labour establishment to hamstring him in the way that they have done. I'm sick of hearing people talking about what an 'honourable man' he is on one hand - while knifing him in the back with the other.

 

I don't think he's ever really got going - and now never will do. What might have happened had the party backed him and had he had a clear run at it free of this referendum is open to debate. Having said that he has had a shocking campaign EU wise - was never vocal or vociferous enough - (probably because he didn't really believe what in what he was saying) - which negates the reasons why people wanted him as leader in the first place I suppose.

 

I think he's in an untenable position now.

I think that's becasue they knew he'd never be a viable candidate for PM - the majority of the people in the UK are conservative with a small c, and a centre right government will always win against any party who appears too far to the left. Unfortunately, Corbyn's 'principles' and past were always going to be held against him.

 

I think its right to say he is a honourable man with years of service to the Labour movement. Its another thing to want him as party leader.

 

He was always in an untenable position, that a very small % of the country joined to elect him as party leader, doesn't really change that fact

Some of them were Tories doing so deliberately.

I've spoke with people with their ear to the ground on this type of issue, the Tories who joined and voted for Corbyn for a wheeze and to potentially destabilise our country were limited in number apparently.

 

Loads joined who were too young to remember the un-electable Labour party of the late 70s and 80s, think Corbyn's the real deal and here we are.
