I was won over by Leadsom during Brexit but her performance over the last 5 days has been disappointing.

 

Meanwhile labour are the gift that just keeps on giving.

I am not convinced about May check out the immediate response in the euro/dollar to sterling currency rate as soon as the news was announced.

Think that would have happened at some stage anyway.

May was a highly likely winner, time to get on with it.

Article 50 may be set in motion sooner now that the leadership is sorted early.

Agree lets get on with article 50 but it strikes me the money markets think that Europe might strike a better deal with May than with a Brexiteer like Leadsom.

The money markets will have moved because there has been a decision made rather than a long drawn out contest, not because of who it is

Nah, Article 50 in the autumn. Election in 2020 when Labour (in its current form) will be wiped off the map for good

Not sure the red rags will survive in their current form. Can see a split forming with the Corbynites (either sinister CPGB types or Utopian college kids) lurching to the left and a more centrist left party which could give the Tories a run for their money (other than for the left vote being fractured).

 

Theresa may be around for a long time (see what I did there?). Here's hoping so and that she delivers what today's speech promised.

There was talk the other day of the pro European centrists from the Conservative and Labour parties breaking away to form their own parties. To be fair - that group has probably got more in common with one another than the right of the Conservatives or the left of Labour.

 

Maybe we'll see 3 parties again in the not too distant future. That would certainly seem to represent the views of the country at large a little better than Parliament does at the moment.
