Since then it seems like it has been always on the cards, Merkel has done a deal. Lets get out before the swarm. Merkel did a deal to stem the immigration I know but I'm pretty sure Cyprus would oppose them joining which could complicate things. They'd have to sort out some of their human rights as well.
