August 21, 20169 yr I thought the tests done reckoned it was a bit of both They are delving into the unknown, sort of. Her natural testosterone levels are several times above the level expected of a woman, so an arbitrary level was set by IAAF some years ago after she Caster first emerged. They required her to take drugs(!!) to lower the level to their arbitrary (but still high) limit, but the Court for Arbitration in Sport ruled that wrong and gave them two years to come up with a satisfactory solution. So for now she can again compete but sometime next year she may or may not. An alternative answer, which seems to tick LGBT boxes too, is to remove all discrimination and not have separate events by sex.

August 21, 20169 yr Lancashire got most golds You've been reading too much Sunday Telegraph. I don't know what they have based their count on, but their nomenclature is inconsistent. Middlesex is included - it was abolished in 1965. Leicestershire is not listed at all and yet much of the overall success is based around Loughborough University.

August 21, 20169 yr Taking #1 slot might be a step too far? Need to focus on swimming and athletics Would really piss off the US, that
August 21, 20169 yr Taking #1 slot might be a step too far? Need to focus on swimming and athletics Would really piss off the US, that Aye more medals in those two would be good as they are seen as the two main blue ribbon sports. Tokyo will be interesting as Japan will no doubt do better and we should be level pegging with a full Russian team and China again.
August 21, 20169 yr I simply don't get that? Ok Joyce did not get through a lot but the french guy hardly threw a punch in the first and third rounds? Edited August 22, 20169 yr by bgoefc
August 21, 20169 yr Leicestershire is not listed at all and yet much of the overall success is based around Loughborough University. Loughborough,I think, would have been 17th in the medal table.
August 21, 20169 yr Not really seen much of it but the judging was crap for Joe Joyce tonight. Only seen this and a bit of the cycling really
August 21, 20169 yr Author I'm going to Holland on Thursday and am desperately hoping I can get to meet the women's hockey team somehow.
August 21, 20169 yr It's been a great olympics because we've done so well. I've not watched any of the 'main' athletics though because of the times. Whats it going to be in Tokyo? It's also made me realise how good London 2012 was, we must have had one of the highest attendances of recent olympics, Rio has been bobbins in comparison.

August 21, 20169 yr I feel the problems that Rio have experienced will change the bidding process forever. I just can't see emerging nations winning a bid again until they have stable economies so that pretty much rules out three of the seven continents.
August 21, 20169 yr Just hope the Strike Gold Team GB Strongbow cider are still selling for a case of 20 at £11 at Tesco when the Paralympics start.
August 22, 20169 yr Remarkable performance by the GB team (hate "Team GB" as a title). Bettered only by the four from four by Bolton Wanderers!
