Cherished Number Plate Advice

My Dad has a pretty decent cherished number plate that he doesn't want anymore, it is Y1 GPP, I think he paid about 1K for it years ago.

Is it better to put the plate on retention and sell it on ebay? or is it better to sell to a cherished registration plate company?

Thanks.

There's some bellend who lives near me who pushes a 1 and a 3 together to make a B, I assume it's his initials that hes trying to spell out...it just looks shit.

Agreed

YIGPP?

To add, most (not all) people who have them are colossal attention seeking bell-ends

I cant remember my own plate, and had it three years.

put it on retention, he'll never get back what he's paid for it..

Hypocrite.

I've seen your bmw with F15TED

I remember when X8WFC was £250, I didn't fancy it then. Now people are joining 1 and 3 to make a B?

B16 JED or whatever shit people are driving round with B16 NOB more like. I have no idea what Y1GPP is even meant to mean.

YIGPP?

Beat me to it? WTF?

I must admit Bernard Manning's made me smile - OBO 110X.

Reputedly, a famous name from Knave Magazine (Fiona Richmond) bought PEN 1S from a bloke in Bury but was disappointed when the DVLC decided to take it out of circulation. Think Mary Whitehouse may have had summat to do with it.

Yeah, Y1 GPP, the GPP are his initials. I think having a number 1 tends to up the price a bit. I don't think he's bothered about getting his money back, he just wants to get rid.

Get looking for Garys with the middle name Paul or Peter. There must be loads between the age of 40 and 55 :)

I saw a wedding car yesterday - 1DO.

I've got 3 personal plates.

If you put it in on Reg transfers they take a massive fee.

eBay is a waste of time.

I would be suprised if you get £1k for it but have it valued via one of the cherished sites.

Need to be dateless to attract real money.

Where I live a couple have the plates HER5 and H15. Around £100k for the pair.

If you are pushing numbers together and trying to form your name out of them, you are - as stated above - a gigantic anus.

You just look like you couldn't afford a decent one.

I think the worst of the lot are BMW X5 drivers. Not only have they bought a car that's bigger than the average assault tank, not only does it come out of the factory with X5 stamped on it in big fuck off letters, but now Billy BMW owner wankface cockbutton seems to think the rest of the world need one last reminder about the fact his car - which for £40k has broken indicators - is an X5.

Also, it's extremely gay.

I've got 3 personal plates.

That's so cheesy it's actually ace. :)

May be better looking for a Guptil Prakesh Patel..........there's trillions in Bolton........

Even better if Guptil's wife is Yasmin.

I've got 3 personal plates.

r.

Where does the third one go? On your roof like a taxi?

Just change your name to your car reg

Loads cheaper

My mate has one on his Porsche so people know it's not a rental :D

Worked for someone who bought an M5 with 15K of 'extras'. Car had pride of place in the showroom but they wouldn't put his plate on 'til he was about to drive off FET 15H.

Still didn't have any indicators!

Cherished plates are not for me, the only person on the road who can't see the feckin things is the person who paid for it.

Each to their own though

I was thinking of getting one but I lease now so it seems a bit pointless

Are we any closer to answering blondes question instead of ridiculing his request?

Off to make some Bangers & Mash, let me know if the solution to the problem is solved.
