I don't know much about Dexy's but that song is lovely.

Going to give the album a bit of a spin, had a bit of a fill of young guns post punk at the moment and I have to say I'm not feeling the new stuff by Yard Act which is a bit of a shame as they are a great band live.

Sparks have released the album of the year for me so far - the young pop guns taking a beating from the older pop aesthete's

Or maybe I'm just middle aged and stick of hearing 20 years olds trying to sound like Gang of Four and Television when I can just listen to well...Gang of Four and Television.

Some folks say that it’s Kevin’s most beautiful tune to date.

I’m not so sure

I'm listening to the new ablum now - really enjoying it, a bit nutty, got a lovely 80s pop feel. reminds me a lot of when Belle and Sebastian worked with Trevor Horn. Anyway, will have a too rye ya around the other albums.

I like rock, but that sounds like a proper shit gig

Lemmy is hard to replace, hawkwind (with Lemmy) and Motorhead would be a tremendous show.

Feels a bit Festwich style tribute show without him

I'm just not a fan of some of the trad rock stuff, folk seem to love Phil Cambell but doesn't get my juices following. That Hammer and Dance song is like bad The Almighty, and they were never that good to start with.

Johnny Marr & The Charlatans for me this weekend at the Piece Hall in Halifax.

For those into their dance stuff, Orbital, Massive Attack and 808 State are also playing Halifax on Friday night - there’s 2 for 1 tickets on offer. Link below.

Phil Campbell & TBS are now on their 3rd album.

Yes they do some cover versions but it's always a brilliant show.

Hawkwind  are timeless , still recording great albums .

Once David Brock throws a double six that will be it.

Great band atmospheric venue  , it should be a goodun

Great front man flowers

He’s fronting a 2 hour set of music so bland and derivative it makes Texas look edgy.

Here’s the thing

Theyre clearly talented. They’ve made millions and sold loads of records.

But there’s something about their music that, to me, is just dreary and awful.

I have a real blind spot with them. Just cannot see any merit in what they produce that hasn’t been done before and better

Their first album was good

They went from nobodies to arenas in two albums

Fair enough but nothing I've heard since their first album was anywhere as near as good, and that wasn't exactly a classic, it was just decent at the time

And his solo stuff was as middle of the road as it comes

Its music for people who aren't into music and go out for meals before a gig
