After finally becoming a full fledged beardy hipster and getting a record player. I've been round to my parents and robbed their stash of LPs from the loft.

Currently got 'Beatles Not For Sale' on.

Loads of my mums soul and motown stuff and my dad's rock and blues records. I'm set for weeks of listening fun

At least ask the question. The N.Soul stuff attracts quite good money. Probably Hendrix too.

My days listening is sorted.IMG_20220303_112941_440.thumb.jpg.0ab7357e5c02085167d6f73656bffb14.jpg

ANYBODY WANT TO APPEAR IN A FILM ABOUT THE LATE 80S / EARLY 90S INDIE SCENE?

The film maker for the project - Ben Hall - is hoping to be in Manchester next Friday to interview/record fans from that era.

Bands like Mega City Four, Wonderstuff, Birdland, Senseless Things, EMF, Snuff, PWEI, Wedding Present…. Plus tons more. Excluding the Madchester scene. All pre-Britpop.

He’s still finalising details for the venue and times, but anyone interested, post on here or send me a PM.

Black Metal shite is worth loads, I have a copy of Long Tall Sally on a 7" when I found out it was worth about 10p I scrawled 'Jon Lenon' on it, I was showing off my records to a girl once and she saw it - "that must be worth a fortune?"

Meant to be meeting up with MC4’s Gerry for a pint pre-Pompey game in a couple of weeks, but looks like game might not go ahead. Oh, and it was him that pestered me!

Proof if it were ever needed that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are the shittest bad in the world.

The lyrics for thier new song that mugged my ears this morning randomly;

A lazy rain am I
The skies refuse to cry
Cremation takes its piece of your supply
The night is dressed like noon
A sailor spoke too soon
And China's on the dark side of the moon
Platypus are a few
The secret life of roo
A personality I never knew (get it on)
My Greta weighs a ton
The archers on the run
And no one stands alone behind the sun

'I'm forever near a stereo saying, 'What the fuck is this garbage?' And the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers.'

The chili's got extra shit when they all got clean.

Up til One Hot Minute they had some decent tunes. Then 20 odd year of dreck

Not my bag. Wouldn’t have tagged them in this period of music.

He literally bummed that ginger with the massive tits out of mad men, he probably gave her hep c - when I read his autobiography his dialogue was recited in my head with a lisp, I don't think he has one.

His dad gave him cocaine at ten years old.

I know its at the worst time but if you're not at the match and need some tunes whilst listening to the commentary, some mates do a slot of this label's Station on a sat afternoon.

It's a bar/label type thing. They play some really decent stuff. https://aajamusic.com/

@Spider have you heard Michael  Kiwanuka earlier album ‘Love & Hate’ had it on today forgot how good it is, seems to get a bit overlooked after his latest album

Saw John Power last night at the Bowdon Rooms near Altrincham. Ended up sat with Pablo & his Mrs. Its a top venue. Once again, tables, candles, waiter service, etc. JP banged out some folky solo stuff in the first set (which is all very good) and then followed with a higher tempo 2nd set of Cast songs. Plenty of Scouse banter between songs. Highly recommend his stuff to listen to and go watch him if you get chance.

Could've fucking sworn there was a fairly big band in the early 2000's called The Mysterines. Around the same time as The Zutons and The Coral and that lot. Did a quick google, and apparently not. Must have imagined it.

Oh my word Kosheen were incredible, Suicide, Hide U etc they blasted the roof off

Problem now is I'm on piss with a load of Notts uni students and I've got a meeting at 8 tomorrow morning

Indeed, this is going to be a dark, dark day.
