Kids must think of me watching Phoenix Nights, The Office etc, as I used to think of old timers watching Dad's Army, George & Mildred, etc.

When the funding of the BBC was being questioned recently, a series called "Fleabag " kept being referred to as a great comedy success......thing is .I've never seen it & don't know anybody who has.

Edit....just remembered a recentish TV comedy that I thought was good....."Still Game ".

search ”killing trilogy bluray" on ebay its £60 but theres only a few (maybe two) boxsets for sale. 

the dvds cheaper 

and theres second hand if you want to save a bit more money  . 

im pretty certain the english subtitles are included (doing this normally increases sales for localization, easier putting english subtitles on something foreign for sale in ,say,  estonia than translating danish into estonian specifically  . kind of like why aviation english is used  . 

im not certain , but its probably got danish (for the deaf) and english subtitles for the folk that cant speak danish. 

dont think theres any dubbing. 

and theres also currently one copy on bluray in amazons warehouse for sale by joe4books. 

doable if youre willing to pay  .  less pissing about than searching netflix and all them to find that none have it  . i do stuff like this all the time rather than piss about and not find it on summat i pay for  . 

might not save money , but saving time is like saving money sometimes.

When The Soprano's and The Wire etc were being hailed as the 'Golden Age of TV' there would sometimes be an almost embarrassed 'see also' reference to it by  tv critics. A cop show on a less favoured channel wasn't supposed to be in the running for end of year greatness but it was consistently excellent. 

I think it drops at times in a very long run. Some seasons better than others as happens. The core actors though are strong and they keep it compelling, Michael Chiklis and Walton Goggins in particular, but there's also some very good support.  

I was watching Goggins in Justified the other day. He's good as ever but that show, whilst enjoyable, is a cartoon in comparison to The Shield. 

I'll give it a go when I've caught up with the Michael Jordan series. 

Which is great even though i know fuck all about basketball!

Starting phoenix nights over again today. Been a long time since I’ve watched it. Then max and paddy will be getting a run out. 

Season 5 of The Shield with Forest Whitaker in is a belter. 2 episodes left in that season.

apparently i watched dubbed, i can honestly say i never noticed 

Tried watching Phoenix Nights the other week with some of the kids, they didn't find it funny and neither did I - it's been a long time but I'm sure I enjoyed it first time around.
