MancWanderer Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Please stop tormenting me that we could sign a proper, natural goalscorer I'd much rather us muddle along nicking goals here and there for the rest of the season when the injuries kick in and we are down to the bare bones of the squad Quote
Rizlar Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 If it is Alf we are signing we can only play 4-4-2 like people have said he cannot play as a lone striker in our current system. Quote
Ratwhite Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Monday's signing will be Ameobi..... Quote

famouswanderer Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 ALF would be a fucking brilliant option coming off the bench as i dont think we have much of a plan B currently, especially if we go behind. But then, why would he move from sitting on Wigan's bench to our bench? Quote
jules_darby Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I love ALF but I'd have Ameobi over him I think Quote
Anderson Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I love ALF but I'd have Ameobi over him I think Comes down to depth and what we have available for me, We have Clayton, Henry and to an extent Taylor who can do Ameobi's job. We have no one even close to ALF in terms of goalscoring threat, he's definitely a player that would improve us and give us another dimension. I'd have both obviously but if it's a case of one or the other, give me ALF every day. Quote

frank_spencer Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Signing ALF would require a change in tactics, with our current tactics being so successful im not sure i want that. and ALFs wages would be pointless in having him kicking his heels on the bench unless we need a plan B. Quote

He'd solve the going a goal down away from home and being totally fucked issue in an instance. Would be a nice problem to have. Quote

Ratwhite Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Which one? All the fucking lot. They seem a good set. Quote
MickyD Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 What is Shola doing now? Don't know what he's doing but I've a bloody good idea what he won't be doing. Quote

I'd have both obviously but if it's a case of one or the other, give me ALF every day. Fair comments but C Taylor does not do what Ameobi does. In fact he does nothing as he's bogwank As you see ALF, I see Ameobi doing stuff nobody else can - the way he holds the ball up, the way he gets them shitting it and doubling up, look at his goals too. When he's at his best he's unplayable and better than Clough IMO. Downside, he's not always produced and is inconsistent. ALF - I just can't see him starting for us, and I'm a big fan; but Ameobi would be first 11 for sure. The only thing that could change that is if Henry keeps on, but we've only really see him have 2 decent games so far. No right or wrong here I guess but for me it would still be Ameobi If we could only have one I think Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Spearing wants a new contract http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/15009128.Spearing__We_can_work_it_out/ His performances aren't the problem; he doesn't have to prove himself... it's the salary that's the stumbling block. gonzo Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 He was fucking superb on Saturday. Joy to watch. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Im sure spearing is aware he's not going to get a prem level contract. He's also settled and happy and playing well. A reasonable offer with bonuses and I'm sure he'll sign. It does highlight the need for promotion this time round. Quote
Casino Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Wonder if Rochdale might gamble on promotion and go for alf Can't see it but they are gonna have a bit to play with Quote

Sweep Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Bloody hell if we're struggling to pay ALF how could Rochdale even dream about it. They've probably got more disposable income than we have at present....as they probably aren't losing £800K a month. I'm still not sure how they could afford it though Quote
Casino Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 They're about to get a 30% sell on for the brentford fella They're also gonna sell out v huddersfield Quote
