January 7, 20179 yr Author No alcohol yet today usually have 1 before game and 2 after but off out to the local for tea looks like glass of vino and might go for fish instead of my steak and ale, that's the plan anyhow should be few hundred calories on the right side. How many calories pint of bitter? Under 250 I think
January 7, 20179 yr I've already pwned Malc, I'm sure he's learned his lesson. Don't under estimate his dullness
January 7, 20179 yr What's for pudding? Then mince pies we bought but never got anywhere near eating and that half eaten Christmas cake in a tupperware box at the back of the fridge.
January 7, 20179 yr Aye, 741 today, average seems to be around 500. I'm sure it'll settle back down to that in a couple of weeks after the "New year, new me" wankers have fucked it off for lie-ins and a full English. I've done Bolton, Worsley and now Heaton Park. Heaton Park definitely my favourite course so far. Worsley is easy but boring. Next up Haigh Hall and then Pennington Flash. It really has grown then. Pleased to hear that, I think parkrun is brilliant. I intend on doing Pennington and Worsley at some point. Haigh Hall is nice but being up and down a hill isn't the quickest 5k. Bit like Bolton isn't.

I've not been to my local one (Cuerden Park) for about 6 months but will be getting back involved soon Anyway it's a real tough number, some killer hills including the finisher, well worth a quick nip up the M61 if you want a bit of a different test
January 7, 20179 yr 22:40 at Heaton park run this morning. Get the fuck in! Over 700 ran it too, wonder how many will be doing it by end of Jan. Mrs Manc did it this morning. She came 122nd out of 750 women. Assume that was out of all the Park Runs?? Some blokes were doing the 5K in 15 mins ffs
January 7, 20179 yr They've finally finished that bit down the dip in between Norbeck and Cleveleys now mate. Clear run down there now. Cheers gonzo that will make it so much easier. What are the blokes who sat in the vans smoking and reading the paper gonna do now??
January 7, 20179 yr Just made a slimming world recipe salt and pepper chilli chicken. Fucking well nice. Even better with a bottle of red to follow. Few years ago I shed a stone in about 3 months using Slimming World recipes. Seemed all you did was substitute frying oil for chicken stock with chilli, garlic and ginger. Well tasty. Bought one of the books. Bacon and butternut squash risotto is stupendous
January 7, 20179 yr Cheers gonzo that will make it so much easier. What are the blokes who sat in the vans smoking and reading the paper gonna do now?? They're probably still there. Nobody has told them they've finished
January 7, 20179 yr Had 2 glasses of white wine and Thai curry with prawns, weakened and also chucked down a pale ale, reckon I'm about 1000 calories down on my usual Saturday. Wasn't too difficult.???? Edited January 7, 20179 yr by Mounts Kipper
January 7, 20179 yr First time ever I've gone to the match and gone to the gym when I've got back. What a fuckin loser.
January 7, 20179 yr I've never been fat but the last 2 years following an accident at work I got quite depressed and gave up on training and racing, pretty much. Recently found myself getting a bit too fond of supping and had a bit of a wake up call. Gave up drink for a while (back on but in moderation now), changed my diet and have got back into running. Got a chin up bar to strengthen my core. Starting a Pilates class as years of cycling and running without stretching properly have left me lacking flexibility. Now running about 30 odd miles a week off road and I'm about 10.5 stone. I'll probably be nearer to 10 once I'm race fit again. I'm 5'10". At 54 it's the last throw of the dice so I'll give it a go and see how it ends up. Barca half Mara next month. Anyway, if an owd cnut like me can do it I'm sure you whipper snappers can. Have a go. Parkrun is a great motivator.

January 7, 20179 yr Few years ago I shed a stone in about 3 months using Slimming World recipes. Seemed all you did was substitute frying oil for chicken stock with chilli, garlic and ginger. Well tasty. Bought one of the books. Bacon and butternut squash risotto is stupendous I shed a stone and a half doing slimming world when my lad was born but when he started moving at about 6 months I fucked it off. Put about 2.5 stone on since! It's alright slimming world it's just cooking from scratch. Ignoring the booze restrictions!
January 7, 20179 yr What I like about Slimming World is it's not about cutting out food groups, it's about balancing everything - have some protein, carbs, veg but cook it healthily (ie with stock rather than oil) and like you say cook it from scratch. Not difficult at all

Not difficult at all I can't believe how good it was to be honest. I Substituted Green pepper with mange tout, smash with a slice of warbies wholemeal (rubbed to dust) and added a shit load of dried chilli flakes rather than chopped chillis but it was ace.
January 7, 20179 yr I'm intrigued by this cooking in stock rather than oil talk I use my fitness pal and the oil soon bumps up the calories so any way to get that down is appreciated We're hammering coconut oil at the moment, I've been led to believe that it's the best one for you, granted it's still adding precious calories in though I just can't see how cooking in stock would work for a lot of stuff. You use oil as it reaches a much higher temperature than stock (water), pan frying a steak for example needs to be done in a little bit of oil but much hotter than 100 C that you would get with stock?

I'd be interested in what you find with this because "1cal spray" just means I spray about 100 times before I'm happy there enough oil to cook the food. Coconut oil is the same.
January 7, 20179 yr I think coconut oil doesn't shave off calories as such, it's about par with olive oil I'd imagine, both calorific as fuck I'm led to believe it's just better for you in terms of what it contains / type of fats All above my head but Lucy Turners ex (SH) swore by it and he does all that body composition game for a living (I'm assuming you know who I'm on about) Edited January 7, 20179 yr by birch-chorley
January 7, 20179 yr Author For a curry, only oil I use is for the onions Could actually dry fry them, but cba Beef tonight and it even had coconut milk in, but no ale so I'm at least enjoying my tea Done a couple of chicken curries in the week and they've just been onions, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and spices Fish on Monday

We all shared a table at that wedding but nutrition wasn't our priority if I remember rightly!
January 8, 20179 yr Ha ha, you recall correctly judging by the state of you lot when I tipped up Simon helped me out with some nutrition plans in the run up to my wedding and that's when he was banging the drum for coconut oil. In fact he even put a scooop in his black Coffee first thing in the morning to aid digestion or something, a step too far for me Maple Syrup was another substitute he recommended. Again it's still calorific but a better source of sweetness / Sugar as it's natural / unrefined - I use a little bit to sweeten up my porridge (made with water of course) Edited January 8, 20179 yr by birch-chorley
January 8, 20179 yr We use coconut oil now all the time....I'm not sure what good it does or doesn't do to be honest. Just had banana protein pancakes with raspberries for breakfast, instead of my ususl Sunday Fry Up. Very nice it was to. Off for an 8 mile walk with the dog now
