Didn't have you down as a stalker Malcolm.

Mind you, had I ever thought of you being an online stalker I'd have expected better research. You do know there is more than one park run location? Tsk, tsk.

Fucking Hell, if he's trawling the Parkrun sites to see which ones you do and how often you do them, then he really is duller than I thought....

It's even worse if the info he's posting is incorrect.

Perhaps better off just sticking to Wiki Malc

I've just made a couple of subtle changes, I have a dodgy right knee and back, so I have to be careful. I'm back in the gym on the bike and stepper (yes very gay) but the stepper & bike are brilliant for cardio. I have also knocked the bread on the head that I used to eat with my evening meal, very northern of me I know.

Sounds like you've already got a good routine to me

I'm doing things slowly, simply because I wasn't fit beforehand so jumping into some fitness fad straight after 2 weeks of gluttony and years of sedentary just wont work. I just need to get to the stage where I am no longer a lazy bastard before taking on the task of actually getting fit.

2lbs shed so far

Had porridge every day for breakfast and mainly worked from home this week so had home-made soup and crackers for lunch. Goes against my very being but cutting the bread out seems to have had an effect (had rice and pasta for my evening meals) but may also be down to the fact that I've also cut down my booze intake

Would love to do more exercise but both my big toe joints cause me constant pain - thought it might be gout but turns out it's osteo-arthritis. Apparently it's because the "exercise" that I've done all my life (golf, cycling, mountain/hill-walking) has involved repetetive flexing of my toe joints and worn them out. Fifty-fucking-three in a week's time and I'm limited in what I can do

Can't believe that you have osteo in your big toes because of that. Gout would be the obvious diagnosis, or you aren't a ex ballet dancer are you?

I'm 5 ft 8ish, got myself down to 13 st 10 before going on holiday in the summer, a gradual loss from 17/3 in July 2014. Lightest I'd been since I was about 14 (although in fairness I was a particularly sporty teenager so it was largely muscle back then). Went on the scales on Monday morning and I've crept back up to 15/12. Knew my shirts were getting tighter but fuck mop.

Pre Christmas 15 6

Post NY 16 2

Am now back to 15 6

Done a couple of half hour staggers, eating better and no ale (not got through tonight yet)

Will batter the 14 stone target, I reckon, and looking at a pakrun in March

Apparently fish chips n peas from the chippy is 1000 calories

Reckon I can sneak the odd one in

I empathise with your plight regarding exercise but you should be ok to swim and gentie walk/cycle and weights and little is better then nothing.

I've got a very good GP and about 30 years ago I used to sell steroid injections to Orthopaedic surgeons so I get what he's saying. He said if I'd played football, rugby, tennis, squash, etc, etc I wouldn't have had the problem as it wouldn't have been repetitive on the toe joints because your body is moving in different directions all the time. X-Rays confirmed the degeneration of the joints

And you can fuck off with the snide gayster ballet remarks. I like a bit of tap dancing being "a bit light on my feet"

Swimming is pretty much what I'm doing now although I'll still do the Fleetwood to Lytham and back bike rides every few weekends and fuck the pain off so that I can have my Bispham chippy "reward" the odd Saturday
