February 4, 20179 yr Re took test yesterday to renew cscs card What a fucking con You've got to have one to gain access to most building sites Can't believe most of the questions they ask you if you fail this you are one dumb cunt For example one asked if you find a bare wire on a piece of electrical equipment what should you do One of the multiple answers was touch it to see if it's live If you don't pass this you should not be trusted to wipe your own arse never mind work on a building site Fucking money making wankers
February 4, 20179 yr Just checked...roughly 40% of people fail it apparently. As you say, these people can't be trusted to wipe their arse, so it's good they're not allowed on site http://cscstestprep.com/nsca-cscs-exam-pass-rates/
February 4, 20179 yr It's similar to the driving theory test. Some of the questions are so obvious that anyone getting them wrong shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a site. I did mine in the back a boiling hot truck on wickes car park in Bury and even with motion sickness I passed no problem.
February 4, 20179 yr There are some quirky answers but most a child could answer. I know a director and a safety officer who failed it, must have been too arrogant to read the book and learn the quirky ones. Either way in it's current format it's a scam as is the phasing out of NPORS.
February 4, 20179 yr I remember question about finding a mate with a severed finger. One option was wrap it up with an oily rag then make a brew.
February 4, 20179 yr I remember question about finding a mate with a severed finger. One option was wrap it up with an oily rag then make a brew. Clearly the correct answer
February 4, 20179 yr I always worry that I'll get the fire extinguisher colours wrong...Red one for a leccy fire obviously
February 4, 20179 yr I always worry that I'll get the fire extinguisher colours wrong... They're all red!
February 4, 20179 yr Do they still have that one on the multiple choice re Weal's Disease and rats on site etc ? One of the answers was "D - get a big cat to eat the rats"
February 4, 20179 yr Author Yes they do pal And another was what to do if you find a hole that's not been safely covered over Ring your mates and wait for someone to fall so you can all have a good laugh
February 4, 20179 yr Yes they do pal And another was what to do if you find a hole that's not been safely covered over Ring your mates and wait for someone to fall so you can all have a good laugh Quality M. Reminds me of the theory driving test when my daughter was doing it. One question was in relation to strong sunlight affecting your vision.... One of the multiple choice answers was "pull down the visor and squint at the sun" The fuckers setting these questions must piss themselves when loading the options..
February 5, 20179 yr I always worry that I'll get the fire extinguisher colours wrong... They're all red! Now there was a backward step in Fire Safety. Now you need to be able to read (in English over here) before you even start to put a fire out.
February 5, 20179 yr Yes they do pal And another was what to do if you find a hole that's not been safely covered over Ring your mates and wait for someone to fall so you can all have a good laugh Yesterday a ground worker was telling me a tale of a labourer who was told to get something to cover a man hole because the elf & safety were coming round, he got a piece of soggy plasterboard and laid that over.
February 5, 20179 yr Yesterday a ground worker was telling me a tale of a labourer who was told to get something to cover a man hole because the elf & safety were coming round, he got a piece of soggy plasterboard and laid that over. Yes but did he fix it down?
February 5, 20179 yr Got mine next Saturday. If I fall into that 40% I'll make sure I let you all know.
February 6, 20179 yr Got mine next Saturday. If I fall into that 40% I'll make sure I let you all know. There's no bloody doubt
February 7, 20179 yr Have to do managers one which has fair whack of techy questions. PTS for Network Rail is a pain.
February 7, 20179 yr We did the test years ago in a van on the works car park. There was only the Boss that failed it! Edited February 7, 20179 yr by Big City Girl
February 7, 20179 yr Author Another lad at work took his today and failed I asked him about the bare wire question and he put wrap some tape round it and continue working The thick dingle cunt
February 7, 20179 yr I failed my supervisor one which I only did under protest so revision was nil. Knew I'd got a load wrong on scaffolding regs. Why the fuck would a groundworker give a fuck about distances between lumps of metal? We get nosebleeds above dpc. Needless to say I never bothered going back. It's a fucking con. Same week a few Polish lads passed their operatives one, in Polish, but then did a site induction in English. Yet they couldn't speak a fucking word of it. Safety nazi, some half mon straight from uni asked me about my supervisor test. He got a fuck off pill. In Polish.
