Super League Is Back

Featured Replies

Coventry RLFC played in the Northern Union from 1910 to 1913.

In their final season they drew one league match and lost all the rest.

They also lost in the first round of the Challenge Cup each year, to Warrington, Oldham and Salford, respectively.

Stadium holds 12,000 Stand closed because there's no point forking out the costs to open it when the crowd (7,000+ on a Thursday, live on telly) fits in the other 3 stands (for what it's worth it has

    Utter horseshit on all counts.

Which club most likely to be franchised off to Coventry as Wasps?

None it's about expansion so they would I believe enter like Toronto with a view to super league becoming 20 teams in two divisions or so I've heard. Maybe bollocks

I'd be amazed if super league went to twenty teams

There's not enough money for 12

The fact that all the major clubs in the game are all based just either side of the length of the M62 (Catalan excepted) so to expect the game to flourish in other areas is ambitious to say the least. I've often wondered if Bolton started up their own franchise how successful that club would be in drawing fans from around the area or have Wigan/Leigh sewn that fan base up?

How many union fans follow the club teams?

Seems they only like the England games

No worse than overseas man utd fans

Union club attendances are higher than League club attendances

I get the point about the internationals though - similar to cricket, nobody really gives a fuck about club level, it's all about the international team

Completely agree

Could they not just merge a couple like Wigan and Leigh, which would free up a space?

Aren't Leigh just Wigan reserves so it's pretty much the same thing

Play down off chorley old road

Watching the past 10 mins ofWiggin v Castleford on the telly box.

Even not knowing much about rugby league I can see Cass are much better than wiggin

Looking forward to the Hull game tomorrow night

Best team this season cas

Cas might win the lot. They are quite a way ahead. Luke Gale has this season scored more points than Warrington.

A dominant first half performance from Salford 7 tries and 34-8 up...looks like we're going 2nd tonight????????????

Edited by Salford Trotter

That was a fantastic performance tonight..not many teams will put 54 pts past Hull at their place..looking forward to hosting Leigh next Friday..should be a great game????

Castleford and Salford running the show, who'd have thunk it
