Mounts Kipper
Thought it was sub 10, but not sure Everton in the League cup Everton in the fa cup Huddersfield in the cup Liverpool cup United cup Probably the most spectacular was to turn out 5k, I think, midweek in London v arsenal I've left blackburn off as dad was at work Thankfully was present at all then games also think we took 8k to Derby in the 1/4 final the game before the Everton game, also must have been big following at Elland Road for the 2nd replay against Newcastle but as I was locked out so not sure what the following was that night but as the attendance was over 40k must have been 10-15k Bolton on. Marc505
Oasis was the dogs bollocks for adidas in the early to mid 80's Marc. Never seen any photos of that place. I was pretty young on my first visits to "old" Manchester, just remember the Arndale, the market and that bus station to be dark, forbidding places
Site Supporter MickyD Posted March 23, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted March 23, 2017 Just been watching Th'ogden's latest effort from the Oxford game. Port Vale fan left a comment, "Can't wait for Bolton at home, it'll be a blood bath!"
bolton va va
Re the Port Vale lot, they always saw us as a major target/scalp in those days but always came seriously unstuck when we met. I was too young for earlier meetings between the clubs i.e 1970's... so can only presume our Lever Enders and Warbys gang smashed them all over. April 1973 at Port Vale, 2-2 & I think we clinched promotion that day with probably a few thousand Bolton fans there. Before kick off there was fighting on the Vale end with Vale and Stoke versus Bolton, so several hundred more Bolton ran across the pitch to join in. The trouble carried on throughout the match with plenty of arrests & a good number carted out for treatment with stones/bricks flying. Near the end a ballboy was threatened for wasting time but I think we scored very late. A very lively day. Never saw a Vale fan at Bolton. My dad took me in the car & I seem to remember us losing when we left & finding out we had drawn when we turned the radio on. I was only 10 so it's all a bit vague but I've always had it in my head that we had been 2-0 down?
