If you plot the areas they're around some of the poorest parts of town. 

I'm with you on the buildings though - some of them just look daft and out of context. Especially the white, gold and green ones. Next to a row of terraced houses and a cobbled street.

The Poles don't seem to mind any, they're pretty much the only white folk in these areas.

In fairness it's not uncommon for religious buildings to be grandiose and domineering.

I suppose it's a symbol of power.

Many such buildings are mightily impressive too, just a pity that so much bollocks has come out of some of them over the years.

Gonzo.....years ago on Daubhill, the mosques were originally back street things, usually situated in converted garages etc.....I know it well as my mate accidentally broke his nose on one
